Central College is a private liberal arts college associated with the Reformed Church in America. The college is situated on a 130-acre campus in Pella, Iowa. Central College students can choose from 39-degree options with business and exercise science, drawing the highest interest. 76% of students complete an internship, and half of the institution’s students’ study abroad. Academics are backed by an 11 to 1 student/faculty ratio and a mean class size of 20. Student life is active with over 80 organizations and clubs. The Central College Dutch play in the NCAA Division III Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). The college sponsors nine men’s and ten women’s intercollegiate sports.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
