Refers to an instructive process that is technologically inspired (and is mostly delivered online), which evaluates students’ performance instantaneously and adapts teaching methods on this basis, so students can learn adequately.  It is an invaluable intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Dedicated Teaching, and Individualized Engagement. 

Here are a few key concepts in adaptive learning: 

1. Adaptive learning is both beneficial to teachers and students: When students use software developed for adaptive learning, it enables teachers to be able to evaluate the data gotten from students’ interaction with the learning material. Hence,  it provides educators with a more wholesome view of individual students’ needs.  This is infinitely better than having to engage with students one-on-one to become familiar with their strengths and weaknesses (as some of the students may even be too shy to engage in these conversations, especially with a large class size). Adaptive learning, on the other hand, helps educators to instantly identify struggle points for students and utilize the best teaching methods for these students, so they can excel. Adaptive learning software provides methods of boosting students’ understanding, which can then be enacted in the classroom by teachers.
2. Adaptive learning intercepts students at the junction between their strengths and weaknesses: The usage of smart Adaptive Learning technology ensures that the Zone of Proximal Development is at the junction between a student’s strengths and weaknesses. These areas are concentrated on and then harnessed so the student can have targeted learning of the material before them.
