Congratulations! If you represent a college or university that is included in this list, please collect your seal below.

The university seal for the Florida Institute of Technology.

Deciding which college to attend can be a daunting task. For many, it will be the most important decision that they make in their lives. To make an informed decision, you have to consider a lot of variables, such as cost of attendance, financial aid, student/teacher ratio, academics, student life, and more. These factors will either positively or negatively impact the quality of education that you receive.

Do you want to acquire a bachelor’s in behavioral psychology, but don’t know what institution you should attend? Well, if you are as ambitious as I was in my late teens, then you want to attend a top school, instead of an average or mediocre one. Fortunately, we have already done the legwork for you. To help you find the right school for your interests and goals, we’ve compiled a list of 2022’s best bachelor’s in behavioral psychology programs.

What institution did we forget? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

  1. Central Methodist University, Fayette, MO

A bachelor’s in behavioral psychology degree from Central Methodist University prepares learners for a career working with individuals who have learning disabilities or require behavioral intervention. Applied behavior analysis is one method of therapy to alter or improve behavior that learners will study. It is common for graduates with this degree to develop a career working with autistic children or their families. Learners will learn how to design meaningful programs for their clients to be able to improve behavior patterns and successfully transition into adulthood. The 120-hour class prepares learners to administer and supervise behavioral evaluations for an array of clients with learning or behavioral disabilities.

  1. Wilmington University, New Castle, DE

Those seeking to develop a career that makes a positive impact on their community should consider a bachelor’s degree from Wilmington University in behavioral psychology. The degree program focuses on social, environmental, and cultural influences that can impact human thinking and behavior. This foundation sets the stage for careers in assisting disadvantaged populations or working in government agencies. Many of its notable alumni have taken up posts in government.

  1. Bellevue University, Bellevue, NE

A degree in behavioral psychology from Bellevue offers a basis for a career in human services. Bellevue focuses on teaching substantial theories relating to psychology, sociology, and counseling while approaching associated concepts such as diversity, ethics, and treatment strategies. Learners will learn critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration in this accelerated class. After achieving this degree, learners can opt into Bellevue’s a master of science in clinical counseling.

  1. Mercy College, New York, NY

Mercy College describes its degree program as a cross between the study of psychology and sociology. The degree program is made up of four mandatory classes augmented by eight electives that learners can select according to their interests. Specializations for the degree consist of community health, gerontology, and health services management. Mercy College is also very accommodating for transfer learners. The behavioral psychology degree normally requires 120 credits over four years. Learners from a two-year institution are eligible to transfer a maximum of 75 credits, and learners from a four-year institution can transfer a maximum of 90 credits that count toward the degree requirement.

  1. University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS

Understanding the nuances of human behavior takes a lifetime of analysis and experience. Learners enrolled in the university’s behavioral psychology degree program learn how to “examine and address problems of social importance across the lifespan.” The university has two degrees relating to these studies: a 33-hour bachelor of arts or a bachelor of general studies. Learners can hone their skills in one of seven specialty areas, including: adults with disabilities, basic research and conceptual foundations, community health and development, early childhood, organizational behavioral management research and practice, and youth development and juvenile justice. This highly focused coursework makes this program the top pick for a degree in behavioral psychology.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
