Introduction

We’ve all encountered the “Emergency Calls Only” issue on our Android devices. This problem can be frustrating, but don’t worry – there are several solutions available. In this article, we will explore the top 10 ways to fix this issue and keep your Android device running smoothly.

1. Restart Your Device

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve the problem. Turn off your phone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This action may reset any connection issues and resolve the “Emergency Calls Only” error.

2. Check SIM Card

Ensure that your SIM card is inserted correctly. If it’s not correctly placed or damaged, your Android device may show an “Emergency Calls Only” message. Remove the SIM card carefully, check if there’s any damage or dirt and re-insert it properly.

3. Activate Airplane Mode

Activating Airplane mode disables all wireless connections temporarily. Enable Airplane mode for a few seconds and then turn it off, allowing your phone to reconnect to the network.

4. Check Network Settings

Your device’s network settings might be causing the problem. Navigate to your connection settings, ensuring that your smartphone is connected to the correct network provider and that the preferred network mode is accurate.

5. Update Your Device Software

Check for any available software updates that may contain bug fixes for this issue by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates.

6. Reset Network Settings

Navigate to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth to reset your network settings and revert them to default values.

7. Manually Select Network Provider

You can manually select your network provider by navigating to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Network operators’ setting; after searching for available networks, choose your carrier.

8. Contact Your Network Provider

Contact your network provider for any reported issues or problems with their services that might be causing the “Emergency Calls Only” message on your device.

9. Perform a Factory Reset

As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset to erase all data and restore the device’s settings. Before doing this, ensure to backup all important files and settings. To do a Factory reset, navigate to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).

10. Consider Repair or Replacement

If none of these methods work, it might be time to consider repairing your phone at an authorized service center or replacing it altogether if it is no longer under warranty.

Conclusion

While the “Emergency Calls Only” issue can be annoying, these 10 solutions can help you identify and resolve the problem quickly. With some patience and trial-and-error, soon you’ll have your Android device up and running smoothly once again.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
