TikTok Teacher Shares How She Keeps Track of Every Student

Introduction

TikTok has become more than just a platform for entertainment and viral dances. It has evolved into a resource for sharing information and helpful tips across a variety of industries. One such sector that has benefited from this social media trend is education. A dedicated teacher recently took to TikTok to share her creative approach to keeping track of every student in her classroom.

The TikTok Teacher: Meet Mrs. Smith

Mrs. Smith, an innovative and enthusiastic educator, has been successfully using TikTok to exchange ideas and insights with other teachers across the globe. Her videos are well-loved by both students and fellow educators alike, as they contain helpful tips and tricks that allow her to manage a diverse group of students effectively.

A Systematic Approach: The Classroom Tracker

In one of her popular TikTok videos, Mrs. Smith demonstrates how she keeps track of each student in her classroom – whether academically or behaviorally – by employing a simple yet effective classroom tracker.

This system consists of a poster-sized chart with every student’s name listed vertically on the left side, while various categories such as homework completion, test scores, participation, and behavior are noted horizontally across the top. Each time a student meets or exceeds expectations in one of these categories, Mrs. Smith places a sticker next to their name in the corresponding column.

Why the Classroom Tracker Works

There are multiple reasons why this tracking method has proven successful for Mrs. Smith and her students:

1. Visualization: By presenting each student’s progress visually, it becomes easier to identify patterns and trends among individual students or the class as a whole.

2. Motivation: The classroom tracker promotes healthy competition among students, encouraging them to excel in various aspects of their academic life.

3. Organization: The system provides an organized record that allows both teacher and student to monitor progress throughout the school year.

4. Responsiveness: The tracker makes it easier for Mrs. Smith to address specific needs or concerns, as she can clearly see which areas may require additional support or praise.

Embracing Technology

While the classroom tracker may seem like an old-school method, Mrs. Smith’s decision to share her strategy through TikTok showcases how educators can harness the power of technology to enhance their teaching methods. Her willingness to embrace social media and learn from her peers has helped improve the overall learning experience for her students.

Conclusion

TikTok is no longer a platform solely dedicated to entertainment; it has become a powerful tool in driving conversation and inspiration among professionals from various industries. The story of Mrs. Smith demonstrates how teachers can use this platform effectively to network with fellow educators, stay current with emerging trends, and continue developing innovative approaches to better serve their students.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
