Promethean Expands ClassFlow™ Capabilities for Teachers
Ready-to-teach lessons, enhanced collaboration tools, and reward badges among new features available for free
(ATLANTA, GA) February 25, 2016 – ClassFlow, an award-winning, free collaborative learning application from Promethean, today released a host of new resources and tools for teachers and students. ClassFlow helps teachers create interactive lessons and assignments that encourage the active participation of every student. The latest expansion includes thousands of ready-to-teach interactive lessons curated by experts, extended collaboration opportunities for students, free student accounts, and rewards to reinforce students’ positive behaviors.
“Teachers asked and we listened,” said Promethean’s CEO Jim Marshall. “We added the most-requested capabilities based on what our teacher users said would have the greatest impact for them and their students. Everything a teacher would do inside and beyond a classroom is now available for free. We also opened the door for parents to be more involved in their student’s learning through ClassFlow student accounts. As in any other educational endeavor, parents are one of the greatest driving forces behind student success.”
With the latest release, ClassFlow now offers:
Thousands of free, teacher-approved interactive lessons: The latest release of ClassFlow helps teachers get started quickly by offering thousands of free interactive lessons through the new ClassFlow Marketplace. New widgets and interactive content will be added weekly.
Free teacher and student accounts: Both teachers and students now have the option to create accounts to foster a deep level of collaborative learning. With the introduction of free student accounts in this version of ClassFlow, teachers can create assignments and assessments for students to complete independently or collaboratively in small groups—both inside and outside of class.
ClassFlow Desktop available at no cost: Teachers can now download ClassFlow Desktop for free. With ClassFlow Desktop, a native app for Windows® and Mac OS®, a teacher can capture anything displayed on his or her computer and share it with students as interactive lesson content.
Rewards for exemplary student behavior: ClassFlow now includes a rewards capability that enables teachers to send digital badges to students who display exemplary behaviors in class. Teachers can select a badge from the existing options or create customized rewards with unique messages and looks.
Collaborative lesson building: Students can now simultaneously build projects together as a team. They can also create lessons together, demonstrating mastery of concepts—an especially useful tool for flipped classrooms and blended learning environments.
“ClassFlow is designed to help teachers give amazing educational experiences personalized for each student’s unique needs,” said Marshall. “It unites the elements of pedagogy, technology and the learning space—what we call the Modern Classroom. When these three elements intersect, teachers operate with the efficiencies of technology, students are motivated to own their learning and continually improve, and students develop skills needed for work, higher education, and life in general.”
