Prairie View A&M is an HBCU situated in Prairie View, Texas, less than an hour northwest of Houston. The institution offers 50 bachelor’s degree programs and about 40 graduate degree programs. Student life at PVAMU is robust thanks to the school’s fraternity and sorority system, Marching Storm marching band, and dozens of other student organizations and clubs. The Prairie View A&M Panthers play in the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in athletics.

Overview of Prairie View A&M University Admissions

The large majority of applicants are admitted to Prairie View each year; in 2019, the school had an acceptance rate of 74%. Students whose SAT/ACT scores and GPA are within the institution’s requirements have a good chance of being admitted. Applicants should complete an online application and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. Students with unique talents and accomplishments can still receive strong consideration even if their GPAs are outside of the mean range. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
