As a fan of Choose Your Own Adventure books, you are likely familiar with the thrill of being able to control the outcome of a story. The interactive nature of these books, where the reader can make choices that directly impact the narrative, has captured the imagination of countless readers over the years.

But what if I told you that there are other series out there that offer a similar level of interactivity and excitement? These series take the concept of Choose Your Own Adventure books and elevate it to new heights, offering even more choices, complex storylines, and immersive experiences.

One such series is the “Give Yourself Goosebumps” series by R.L. Stine. Like Choose Your Own Adventure books, these books allow readers to control the protagonist’s actions and make choices that affect the outcome of the story. Each book in the series offers multiple branching paths and endings, ensuring that each reading is a unique experience.

Another series to explore is the “Twisted Journeys” series by Dan Jolley, Matt Wendt, and others. In these graphic novels, readers not only make choices for the protagonist but also solve puzzles and engage in interactive mini-games. The combination of captivating artwork and engaging storytelling makes for an unforgettable reading experience.

For those who enjoy historical fiction, the “Time Machine” series by Susan Nanus is a must-read. This series combines the excitement of time travel with the interactive nature of Choose Your Own Adventure books. Readers can travel to different time periods and make choices that shape the course of history.

If you prefer science fiction, you’ll love the “Out There” series by Alan MacDonald. These books transport readers to a futuristic world where they encounter aliens, explore new planets, and make choices that impact their survival. The immersive world-building and thrilling storylines will keep you on the edge of your seat.

So, if you loved Choose Your Own Adventure books as a kid, these series are a perfect fit for you. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
