Software developers and engineers are always hard at work to provide schools with top-of-the-range tech and teaching equipment. For instance, various apps and tools that have been released, have opened new doors for learners in their academics.

However, one of the many exciting advancements in educational tech is AI, or artificial intelligence. If you do not know what this is, you have come to the right place. This article will discuss everything there is to know about AI, including how it can be used in the classroom.

AI Tools

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a phrase used to describe machines that display intelligence. In other words, machinery that can complete tasks and projects without the intervention of human beings.

This tech has been in development over the past couple of years. Recently, schools have begun to incorporate AI into their lesson plans to enhance the learning experience for their learners.

How Can AI Be Used in the Classroom?

There are various ways in which AI can be used in the classroom. For instance, most educational facilities use artificial intelligence to develop skills and testing systems. More so, this tech can automate repetitive and tedious admin tasks, such as grading homework, exams and other assignments.

There are lots of AI apps that can provide learners with support outside of the classroom. For instance, Pedagogue is a new social learning management system that educators can use to organize and manage materials online, allowing learners to access school content from one central location.

How Can AI Be Used to Save Schools Money?

Even though Artificial Intelligence can be very expensive to incorporate into school programs, there are also many financial benefits. For example, this tech can be used to complete specific admin tasks in the school. This would mean that they would not have to pay someone to do this job, and therefore save salaries. In fact, in 2019 alone, AI saved colleges more than one billion dollars on human resources costs.

On top of this, most institutes use AI for financial purposes. Artificial intelligence can process and monitor the financial situation of college campuses. In this way, the tech can determine whether or not a school has the funds to buy specific tools or equipment. Although this may not cut costs for the institution directly, it can save them from bankruptcy in the long run.

Conclusion

Most schools around the world use artificial intelligence for academic and financial purposes. Educators use this tech to enhance the learning environment for their learners. More so, although it may be expensive to purchase AI equipment, it could potentially save campuses lots of money in the long run. This can be done by cutting human resource costs.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
