Spread the love

If you’re longing for a family-friendly resort near New York City, look no further than these seven great options. Each is available in a beautiful area with plenty of activities and attractions nearby. And they have something that sets them apart from other places like water parks!

Consider the following options to get a long-lasting, memorable family fun vacation in New York.

  1. Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark

Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark is a family-friendly resort with an indoor waterpark. The waterpark features a lazy river, a wave pool, and several water slides to enjoy. It also includes a kids’ area so your little ones can play while you take in the sights of their favorite attractions at Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark! The resort includes a restaurant, arcade, gift shop, and more!

It is in the heart of Florida’s most popular theme parks, with easy access to all the attractions you could want to see. This Indoor Waterpark is an ideal location for your next vacation. This attraction is just minutes from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, making it easy to enjoy all the attractions you could want to see. The resort includes a restaurant, arcade, gift shop, and more. The resort has over 20 acres of land with amenities, including a lazy river, wave pool, water slides, and more!

  1. Hero Beach Club

Hero Beach Club is on Fire Island, NY. It’s the perfect beach getaway if you’re looking for something that appeals to all ages and types—from families with young children to retirees who want to enjoy the warm weather for a day at the beach.

The resort offers two pools for adults and kids; both have slides and water cannons so everyone can have fun! You’ll also find plenty of activities, including:

  • volleyball tournaments every weekend during July & August (the kids love this!)
  • poolside yoga classes every Wednesday afternoon in June through August (they’re great)
  • board games on Friday evenings after dinner (you should try it—it’s fun!)
  • ping pong tables in case anyone wants another way to play while they wait until after dinner before going out onto the sand or into town
  1. Castle Hotel & Spa

Castle Hotel & Spa is a family-friendly resort that offers excellent value for your money. The hotel has an indoor waterpark on-site, so this is a perfect option if you have younger kids in your group looking to get wet. The spa and fitness center are also fantastic additions to this property—the sauna alone will provide hours of relaxation!

However, if you’re traveling with children, there’s no need to worry about them being bored at Castle Hotel & Spa because they’ll have plenty of things to do. The hotel has a kids club (ages 6–12), which includes arts and crafts programs and games like basketball tournaments and trivia nights.

  1. Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort

This attraction is a must-visit place in the Pocono Mountains, just outside Philadelphia. It’s a family-friendly resort with plenty to offer: a golf course, waterpark, and spa! The hotel also has its restaurant, bar, and gift shop.

If you’re looking for something more than just a place to stay while visiting New York City—and if you have kids who love riding their bikes around town—this might be the perfect spot for them!

  1. Great Wolf Lodge Water Park

Great Wolf Lodge Water Park is a family-friendly water park in the Pocono Mountains. Located in Pennsylvania, this North Carolina-based resort brings fun and adventure to all ages with its massive collection of slides, pools, and slides for kids and adults. The on-site restaurant lets you enjoy lunch or dinner before heading out to play at night (or anytime during your stay). There’s also a bar if you want something alcoholic after all those rides!

There are three pools at Great Wolf Lodge

  • one indoor pool with zero entry into the water
  • and two outdoor pools; one features little ones’ sections designed just for them
  • one pool is entirely dedicated to adults, with no restrictions on age groups allowed inside this area!

If there’s something specific that appeals more than others, then we’ll let you know exactly where each area starts/ends so you don’t miss out while staying here too long without getting bored 🙂

  1. Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa

Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa is a family-friendly hotel in the Catskills with a water park. The resort is located near Woodstock and has many activities for kids and adults, including karaoke nights, storytelling events, movie night parties, and yoga classes. It’s also home to an indoor water park with slides, splash pads (and even a lazy river!).

Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa has two restaurants: one for adults and one with both food and drinks available for everyone in your party (you can choose between food from their menu or create your meal). There are also some bars for you to grab drinks after dinner if you want something more potent than juice!

  1. Water’s Edge Resort

Water’s Edge Resort is a family-friendly resort located in the Catskills and near New York City. The resort offers many activities for all ages, including an indoor water park and zoo, as well as entertainment centers such as bowling alleys and arcade games. Water’s Edge Resort is also within driving distance of many other attractions like

  • the Mount Vernon Village Museum (a great place to learn about George Washington)
  • Tappan Zee Bridge (which crosses over one of New York’s busiest highways)
  • and Newburgh & Philadelphia Railroad Museum (which has trains running through its grounds)

I hope this list of the best family resorts near New York City has given you some ideas for your next vacation.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
