As a result of its enticing beaches, thrilling theme parks, and gorgeous landscape, Florida has quickly become one of the most sought-after family vacation destinations in the world.

While any beach area on either coast can be a terrific vacation spot, the Gulf Coast of Florida embodies the laid-back lifestyle you may seek on your next vacation.

The greatest Gulf Coast beach resorts that are suitable for families are listed here.

  1. JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort – Marco Island, FL

The 664-room oceanfront JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort, one of the most popular Florida family resorts on the Gulf Coast, is synonymous with luxury.

If you stay in one of the hotel’s luxury guestrooms or suites, you can look forward to the expansive ocean views.

These rooms feature separate pullout couch beds ideal for accommodating children in your party.

An onsite children’s camp plans activities like arts and crafts, dive-in movie time at the pool, and more for young guests. Other hotel amenities include three outdoor pools with play areas, a wonderful spa, and a fitness center.

Numerous eateries serve pizza, frozen yogurt, and sushi, among other cuisines.

  1. Resort at Longboat Key Club – Longboat Key, FL

If you’re looking for a fantastic family resort on Florida’s Gulf Coast, go no farther than The Resort at Longboat Key Club.

The hotel has a variety of family-friendly accommodations, ranging from shared rooms and one-bedroom suites to larger two-bedroom suites for larger families.

After settling into your hotel, rent rafts, paddle boards, or kayaks from the resort and head to the swimming pool or the pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

The children will enjoy the activities organized by the Camp Loggerhead Kids Club, including the weekend Kid’s Night Outs.

The family beach games organized by the resort on Friday and Saturday afternoons may be the perfect opportunity for family bonding if you are seeking it.

  1. Edgewater Beach Hotel – Naples, FL

A beachfront hotel, such as the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Naples, might elevate family holidays to the next level on Florida’s western coast.

You can choose between one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens and all the essential conveniences required while traveling with children.

The Edgewater Beach Hotel is an excellent choice if you prefer a more discreet alternative to the larger resort.

You can relax on the chairs with umbrellas the resort has placed along the beach as you watch dolphins playing in the water.

Alternatively, you can lounge by one of the property’s two pools or rent bicycles to explore the surrounding area.

There is an excellent on-site food option for those who are hungry.

  1. Sunset Key Cottages – Key West, FL

The Sunset Key Cottages are just a short boat ride from Key West and offer the perfect island hideaway off Florida’s west coast.

As the name suggests, the resort comprises a variety of cottages that appear to have emerged from a fairy tale.

The amenities are all of the highest quality, allowing you to experience a touch of luxury without feeling too far from home.

The facility offers an on-site spa that caters to adults and children, pampering them with facials and massages designed specifically for them.

If you and your children are fishing enthusiasts, the resort would gladly provide you with fishing equipment and bait to use from the private dock.

In addition, the resort’s various swimming pools, tennis courts, and other attractions will entertain the entire family.

  1. Sandpearl Resort – Clearwater, FL

Along Florida’s Gulf Coast, there is no shortage of beach resorts, but not all offer an experience as luxurious as the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater.

Standard rooms, one- and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, dining areas, washers and dryers, and private balconies are available for your selection.

If you wish to appreciate the coastal location fully, try digging your toes into the sand while making s’mores with your children around the campfire at night.

The resort provides free sand sculpting instruction for those who are interested.

If your children are between the ages of 5 and 10, you can enroll them in Camp Ridley, the hotel’s kid’s club that teaches them about Florida’s natural beauty and biodiversity.

  1. Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach Resort – Clearwater, FL

Standard rooms at the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach Resort provide either a king or two queen beds with an ocean view. Even yet, if you’re traveling with kids, the deluxe king suites with bunk beds would be the best option.

All rooms feature 50-inch televisions, fast Wi-Fi connections, Keurig coffee makers, and mini-refrigerators to facilitate a family holiday.

There are a variety of child-friendly amenities provided by the hotel.

For instance, you may enroll them in art programs or unique spa treatments.

Family movie nights may be fun if you search for activities to do together.

The hotel also features a heated pool, allowing guests to swim throughout the year.

  1. South Seas Island Resort – Captiva Island, Florida

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Gulf Coast, South Seas Island Resort is where you should stay.

The facility offers a variety of suites, villas, and condos for those traveling in large groups or who intend to remain for extended periods.

There are several activities for people of all ages to enjoy while on vacation with their families.

The Sanibel Sea School offers programs that educate children about biodiversity, while the Swimtastics staff organizes swimming classes and mermaid camps.

You can go waterskiing, parasailing, or join a sailing club, just to name a few of the exciting sports you can participate in.

Lastly, the facility features various swimming pools and water slides.

  1. Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina

The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina offers a variety of family-friendly accommodations for those planning a visit to the area.

The villas and suites, many of which feature full kitchens and laundry services, are ideal for families of all sizes.

You also receive breakfast coupons upon initial check-in.

This family-friendly resort will keep your children entertained throughout your visit.

Activities for children and their parents include guided kayak tours, dolphin tours, sailboats, paddle cycles, arts and crafts sessions, and much more.

You can relax by the Octopool or use the complimentary beach umbrellas and chairs.

This is the hotel’s signature pool complex, which features waterfalls, underwater speakers, and more.

  1. Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa

One of the finest Florida resorts for families is the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, especially if private beach access is a must.

Take the shuttle to the property’s boat dock; from there, a boat will whisk you away to the beach on Big Hickory Island, turning it into a mini-adventure for mom and dad and the kids.

If you’d instead relax by the pool and water slide complex, many deck chairs surround the property’s new lazy river where you can order your favorite snacks while lounging.

In addition, you have access to the Raptor Bay golf course, tennis courts, a climbing wall, and a luxurious spa.

Additionally, parents would appreciate the kids’ club and babysitter facilities.

  1. Hyatt Coconut Plantation, A Hyatt Residence Club

Examining the Hyatt Coconut Plantation is the next logical step after learning about the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa.

You won’t find any room service here, but the one- and two-bedroom condominiums do come with full kitchens and washers and dryers.

It’s a positive that there are a lot of supermarkets in the area.

The Hyatt Coconut Plantation offers numerous swimming pools, including a lazy river, kiddie pools, and a splash pad, for its guests to enjoy.

In addition to the private island, which is only a short ferry journey away, guests of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point can enjoy the resort’s water slide complex.

  1. Hilton Naples

Due to its central location and family-friendly features, the Hilton Naples is an ideal facility for families.

The Hilton Naples offers a variety of family-friendly accommodations, including basic bedrooms and suites.

In addition to unlimited transportation, the facility offers a complimentary beach package with water, towels, and chairs.

Get some laps in at the heated pool or unwind in the spa.

Take advantage of the free bicycle rentals if you are in the mood for family fun.

In addition to the hotel’s excellent on-site dining options, there are other local restaurants within walking distance.

If it is a date night for the parents, you can utilize the property’s babysitting services.

  1. LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort is an additional option in Naples that offers stunning views from its various bedrooms and suites but also the tranquility you’ve been seeking.

If the children are between the ages of 5 and 12, the Kids Aquatic Camp will organize activities; if they are older, water sports will be available.

Multiple swimming pools, a Tiki bar, and a magnificent spa are located around the site, along with a Tiki bar.

On request, babysitting services can also be offered.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
