Deciding which college to attend can be a daunting task. For many, it will be the most important decision that they make in their lives. To make an informed decision, you have to consider a lot of variables, such as cost of attendance, financial aid, student-teacher ratio, academics, student life, and more. These factors will either positively or negatively impact the quality of education that you receive.

Do you want to acquire a bachelor’s degree in economics but don’t know what institution you should attend? Well, if you are as ambitious as I was in my late teens, then you want to attend a top school, instead of an average or mediocre one. Fortunately, we have already done the legwork for you. To help you find the right school for your interests and goals, we’ve compiled a list of 2022’s best bachelor’s in economics programs.

What institution did we omit from this list? Leave your suggestions in the comment section below.

  1. Stanford University, Stanford, CA

This prominent institution has a rigorous bachelor’s degree in economics. Stanford economics majors may select from five distinct tracks or select an array of classes to receive the bachelor of arts (BA) in economics. The 80-unit degree program introduces learners to macro and microeconomic theories. It also teaches learners to examine economic problems and policy issues.

  1. Harvard University, Cambridge, MA

Learners enrolled in the bachelor of arts (BA) in economics discover the logical structures and devices of economics, and they investigate and examine economic problems. Essential requirements consist of math fluency, principles of economics, intermediate theory classes, and statistics, and econometrics.

  1. University of Chicago, Chicago, IL

UChicago’s bachelor of arts degree program in economics provides learners with the tools to comprehend and examine the operation of a modern economy. Learners investigate economic models and price determination, and they learn to test the models’ predictions against real-world information.

  1. Baruch College,New York, NY

Baruch has both a bachelor of arts in economics and a bachelor of business administration in economics. Both options require comparable classes, but the BA is more focused on economics. In addition to general education classes, learners finish three core classes and five elective classes.

  1. Washington State University, Pullman, WA

WSU’s bachelor of science (BS) in economic sciences offers learners advanced data analysis, communication, and critical thinking skills. Majors study microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Learners can select to apply this knowledge in an array of concentrations.

  1. Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR

OSU’s bachelor of arts (BA) in economics helps learners strengthen their skills in verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis. The degree program is available both on campus and through the eCampus. Learners must complete classes on economic principles, calculus, microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, statistics, econometrics, and 19 additional credits of approved economics classes.

  1. Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA

The BS in business administration economics covers both macro and micro theory. Learners investigate monetary policies, the impact of economics, and banking. They also learn how businesses operate, including various types of competition and the functions of supply and demand.

  1. Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA

Penn State learners may earn either a bachelor of arts (BA) or a bachelor of science in economics. The BA degree program includes institution-wide BA requirements, and learners must reach the 12th-credit level of proficiency in a foreign language. The BS program requires more quantitative skills classes. Both programs require core economics classes.

  1. Lehman College, Bronx, NY

Lehman’s bachelor of arts (BA) in economics builds learner comprehension of processes, trends, and structures in the private and public economy. Learners also get theoretical and practical training in economic analysis and the management of economic issues.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
