Father’s Day is a special occasion to celebrate and appreciate fathers and father figures. If you’re looking for unique crafts to make with your kids this Father’s Day, here are 17 ideas to inspire you:

1. Handprint Baseball:

Create a baseball-themed craft by making handprint cutouts in the shape of a baseball. Use white paper and red paint for an authentic look.

2. Superhero Dad Card:

Help your kids make superhero-themed cards for their dads. Cut out a cape shape from construction paper and let them decorate it with their own superhero design.

3. “Best Dad” Trophy:

Make a trophy for the best dad in the world. Use cardboard, gold spray paint, and markers to create a personalized trophy that shows your love and appreciation.

4. Dad’s Tool Belt:

Create a tool belt craft using an old belt and cardboard pockets. Decorate the pockets with tools made from construction paper, and your kids can surprise dad with their own mini tool belts.

5. Handprint BBQ Apron:

Personalize a plain apron by adding handprint shapes using fabric paint. Let your kids choose their favorite colors and create a unique design.

6. Fishing Lure Keychain:

Make a fishing-themed keychain using colorful beads and fishing lure hooks. Thread the beads onto a keychain wire, and attach the fishing lure hook as a decorative accent.

7. Memory Jar:

Decorate a jar and fill it with handwritten notes containing special memories or reasons why your dad is the best. He can read them anytime he needs a boost of love and appreciation.

8. Photo Collage Frame:

Create a personalized photo collage frame using popsicle sticks and printed family photos. Let your kids decorate the frame with paint or markers for an extra touch.

9. Father’s Day Coupons:

Design and make homemade coupons that your dad can redeem for special treats or favors. Include things like “Dad’s Choice Dinner” or “One Free Car Wash.”

10. Tie-dye T-shirt:

Have fun with tie-dye and help your kids create a one-of-a-kind T-shirt for their dad. Use different colors and patterns to make it unique and special.

11. Hand-shaped Oven Mitt:

Trace your kids’ hands onto fabric and sew them together to make an oven mitt. Dad will love using this hand-shaped mitt while cooking in the kitchen.

12. Bottle Cap Coasters:

Collect bottle caps and glue them onto cork coasters to create unique and personalized coasters for dad. Let your kids choose their favorite bottle caps to make it more special.

13. Personalized Mug:

Decorate a plain white mug using permanent markers or ceramic paint. Let your kids draw pictures or write messages for their dad on the mug.

14. DIY Desk Organizer:

Repurposed materials like cardboard boxes, cans, and paper towel rolls to create a DIY desk organizer for dad. Your kids can decorate it with paint or stickers.

15. Handprint Keychain:

Make a keychain using your kids’ handprints and a clear resin mold. This way, dad will always have a reminder of how small their hands once were.

16. Painted Rocks:

Collect smooth rocks and let your kids paint them with colorful designs or sweet messages for their dad. He can use them as paperweights or display them in his workspace.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
