Black History Month, celebrated annually in February, provides a valuable opportunity to honor and recognize the achievements of Black individuals throughout history. This month serves as a reminder to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful activities that promote understanding and awareness. In this article, we will explore 17 creative and educational Black History Month activities that can be enjoyed not only in February but throughout the year. Let’s dive in!

1. Virtual Museum Visits:

Discover and explore virtual museum exhibits dedicated to Black history. Many museums offer online galleries, allowing you to learn about significant events, influential figures, and artistic contributions.

2. Film Screenings:

Organize film screenings featuring movies that highlight Black history, culture, and achievements. You can curate a list of impactful documentaries, biopics, or dramas and host virtual movie nights.

3. Book Club:

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
