17 Best Beaches in Brazil

By Matthew Lynch

Spread the love

Brazil is the longest country on earth, the biggest in South America, and the fifth largest worldwide.

This gorgeous nation is home to some of the most breathtaking and mind-blowing beaches on the planet, in addition to a wealth of historical landmarks, cultural celebrations, and nature-related attractions.

Visit one of the alluring beaches in Brazil to escape the routine of your everyday life. These beaches are lovely and filled with exciting possibilities.

To make your trip as enjoyable as possible, check out some of the best beaches in Brazil that I have hand-picked.

  1. Copacabana Beach — Rio de Janeiro

Unquestionably, Copacabana Beach is among the best beaches in Brazil.

Every year, millions of beachgoers around the world visit this famed coastline.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Visit Copacabana Beach with your friends and family for the perfect beach getaway.

Four kilometers of the seashore are made of fine sand, and the ocean is a brilliant cerulean color.

Both on land and in the water, there are a ton of activities available.

You can go stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, bodysurfing, and much more for an exciting time in the ocean.

If you don’t feel like swimming, you may play soccer, ride your bike on the paved boardwalk, build towering sandcastles, play competitive beach volleyball, or relax by the water and work on your tan.

Expert Tip

Don’t leave Rio de Janeiro without seeing one of the city’s most well-known sights, the enormous statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Only a 20-minute drive separates this famous landmark, which is 98 feet tall, from Copacabana Beach.

  1. Ipanema Beach — Rio de Janeiro

The coastline at Ipanema Beach is breathtaking.

It offers infinite vistas of the South Atlantic ocean vistas, sun-kissed shorelines, and stunning mountain backdrops.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Ipanema Beach, one of Brazil’s most well-known beaches, is a great place to go on an adventure with your traveling companions.

There are several seaside eateries, pubs, and businesses along this coastline.

It comes to life at night with dance music.

Ipanema Beach has various facilities, including a boardwalk made of concrete, spotless restrooms, and easily accessible showers.

You may engage in many activities, including bodyboarding, kite flying, windsurfing, surfing, and sand volleyball.

Expert Tip

The stations are abundant in Ipanema Beach.

You may find a more relaxed ambiance at Station 9, which is perfect for family vacations.

If you linger at this station past sunset, you might find it amusing to learn that people there usually clap to celebrate the evening.

  1. Praia do Espelho — Porto Seguro, Bahia

Espelho Beach and Mirror Beach are two alternative names for Praia do Espelho.

Hotels with boho decor surround this hidden gem of a seashore.

Why We Recommend This Beach

The ideal location for a getaway that seems like heaven with your significant other is Praia do Espelho.

It has tall coconut palms, golden sand, and emerald-blue, crystal-clear waters.

Fewer people are drawn to this natural beauty, making it ideal for you to enjoy a particular time.

Spend time with each other while engaging in activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, beachcombing for shells, swimming in the cool water, relaxing in a hammock, and sunbathing on the shore.

Expert Tip

Spend time checking some places along the shore, such as Restaurante Paraiso.

You and your spouse can sample a variety of regional specialties, fine cocktails, and fresh seafood here.

  1. Lopes Mendes Beach — Ilha Grande, Rio de Janeiro

On the Brazilian island of Ilha Grande is Lopes Mendes Beach.

Undoubtedly, Lopes Mendes Beach is among Brazil’s top beaches.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Its silky white sand, sparkling azure water, and numerous trees offer plenty of shade on hot days.

With your friends, family, or significant other, you may enjoy various activities like surfing, bodyboarding, snorkeling, building sandcastles with your kids, taking a stroll along the beach’s 3-kilometer length, and much more.

Expert Tip

Because there are no restaurants close to Lopes Mendes Beach, you should bring food, drinks, and snacks for your companions.

  1. Porto de Galinhas Beach — Ipojuca, Pernambuco

Porto de Galinhas Beach, formerly a little fishing community, is today a popular destination for locals and visitors.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Porto de Galinhas Beach is a great place to discover the magnificence of marine life, renowned for its crystal blue water.

You can go diving or snorkeling at the coral reefs close to the shore, which are home to many different species of colorful fish.

Natural pools emerge at low tides when the water is at its calmest.

These are ideal if you’re taking young kids or toddlers on a trip.

Expert Tip

Visit the neighborhood next to Porto de Galinhas Beach.

There are numerous stores where you may buy souvenirs, presents, clothing, local handicrafts, and other exciting stuff.

  1. Carneiros Beach — Tamandaré, Pernambuco

Praias dos Carneiros, the neighborhood’s name for Carneiros Beach, is picture-perfect.

It is one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches.

It has a white beachfront as white as a diamond, soaring palm trees, and crystal-clear water.

Why We Recommend This Beach

I recommend Carneiros Beach if you wish to spend your beach holiday in a tranquil hideaway away from enormous groups of tourists and many sellers.

The atmosphere along this stretch of shoreline is calm and serene, making it ideal for some much-needed rest.

Its serene atmosphere is perfect for lounging on the beach while getting a tan, reading an excellent book, building sandcastles, taking a stroll, taking a leisurely dip in the clear water, laying out a towel, having a beachfront picnic, and so much more.

Expert Tip

Only eight minutes away from Carneiros Beach is the 18th-century So Benedito Church.

Visit this well-known tourist and historical location, which has towers roughly 40 meters tall.

  1. Santos Beach — São Paulo

Seven canals or portions make up the 7 km long Santos Beach.

Each area gets its name to make it easier to distinguish between them.

Why We Recommend This Beach

To experience some of the top activities in Brazil, go to Santos Beach with your friends or family.

At Santos Beach, you may engage in many activities with your friends, including surfing, beach volleyball, parasailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, bodyboarding, and much more.

Santos Beach also has many amenities to make your trip more comfortable, such as attentive lifeguards available to assist whenever you need it, kid-friendly play areas, clean restrooms, showers, etc.

Expert Tip

Gonzaga Beach, the area between canals 2 and 3, is the most excellent option when traveling with children.

There are many restaurants, stores, and playground swings on the water.

Visit José Menino Beach or the So Vicente to Canal 1 stretch to take advantage of the most significant waves for surfing and other water activities.

  1. Porto da Barra Beach — Salvador, Bahia

A local favorite is Porto da Barra Beach, which is tucked away on the shores of the Bay of All Saints.

You can find numerous beachside eateries and pubs there.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Not the best swimmer, are you?

Are you uncomfortable swimming near a shoreline that has strong currents or waves?

Next, pick Porto da Barra Beach as your last stop.

The best beach in Brazil for swimming is Porto da Barra Beach, which faces a bay rather than the South Atlantic Ocean.

You can enjoy swimming there without worrying about unexpectedly powerful currents because the water is quiet and extremely clean.

Expert Tip

Porto da Barra Beach frequently receives enormous numbers of people due to its perfect surroundings and safe atmosphere.

To escape the large influx of beachgoers, visit early in the morning during the week or during the off-season.

  1. Taipús de Fora Beach — Maraú, Bahia

Due to its clear waters and reef pools, Taip’s de Fora Beach is a top snorkeling location.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Taip’s de Fora Beach is the perfect option if you enjoy snorkeling and want to spend your beach vacation discovering the wonders of aquatic life.

Seven kilometers of its coastline are made of white sand, and its coral reefs are filled with vibrant fish and other aquatic life.

After snorkeling or scuba diving, you can relax by the water’s edge and soak up the sun, create sand sculptures, search for unusual seashells, take a stroll with your significant other, etc.

Expert Tip

If you love seafood, consider eating at the seaside eatery Bar das Meninas.

Fresh seafood, premium beverages, and more are available here.

  1. Praia do Sancho — Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco

On the sands of Sancho Bay is the picturesque Praia do Sancho.

It is one of the loveliest coastlines in the world and is well-maintained by the local government.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Praia do Sancho is the place to go if you’re seeking lovely beaches to take your family, friends, or significant other on an unforgettable holiday.

You can enjoy various activities with your friends at this scenic shoreline on a small island.

For instance, they were swimming leisurely, watching dolphins jump into the water, keeping an eye out for sea turtles swimming by, picnicking on the beach, sunbathing, and more.

Expert Tip

Visit Praia do Sancho between April and June, Brazil’s rainy season, to see two waterfalls form.

They create a water curtain and are stunning.

  1. Forno Beach — Arraial do Cabo

Emerald mountains border the lovely Forno Beach.

Oven’s Beach and Praia do Forno are other names for it.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Forno Beach is beautiful, with water like a pool, a white beach, and various exciting activities.

Along with other activities, you and your travel companions can go snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, picnicking by the ocean, and more.

Additionally, it has facilities like comfortable dining tables, reclining chairs for the beach, and spotless showers for washing off after a strenuous day.

Expert Tip

There are rental kiosks along this shoreline if you don’t feel like packing your water gear and carrying the extra weight.

Boards, snorkeling equipment, and kayaks are among the things you can rent for a fee.

  1. Praia do Campeche — Florianópolis, Santa Catarina

An oasis for fans of water sports is Praia do Campeche.

It features expansive views of the South Atlantic Ocean, fine sand, and brilliant turquoise water.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Do you wish to engage in various enjoyable activities on your beach vacation rather than laze around?

Afterward, Praia do Campeche is a fantastic choice for you!

You can do many fun activities at this breathtaking beach, like playing a game of competitive footvolley, bodyboarding, kayaking, scuba diving, kitesurfing, wind-boarding, scuba, and snorkeling.

Expert Tip

A grocery shop named Hiper Select Supermercados is just two minute’s drive from Praia do Campeche.

It is a great spot to visit if you need to buy supplies like sunscreen, beverages, and snacks or if you forgot something.

  1. Pipa Beach — Tibau do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte

Pipa Beach is a magnificent beach with crystal-clear water and a snow-white sand beach.

It is known as Kite Beach or Praia da Pipa among locals.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Discover Pipa Beach’s splendor with your loved ones or friends.

Whatever the age of your friends, this beach has something extraordinary to offer.

You can go kayaking, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, viewing dolphins, relaxing beneath a beach umbrella, assisting your kids in making sand sculptures, and many other things.

Expert Tip

You might like to attempt one of the enjoyable tours the various local businesses offer with your friends or family.

Such as going dolphin swimming, taking a guided boat excursion, riding horses, and buggy boating.

  1. Ferradura Beach — Armacao dos Buzios, Rio de Janeiro

Family-friendly Ferradura Beach is located on a bay-protected coastline.

It is shaped like a horseshoe and offers several on-site amenities, beautiful scenery, and crystal blue water.

Why We Recommend This Beach

It might be challenging to locate the ideal beach for your family, especially if you have young children.

In these circumstances, Ferradura Beach is a top pick for your next beach vacation.

Because it is a small bay with shallow, pool-like water, mild waves, no strong currents, and a flat, sandy shoreline, Ferradura Beach is the safest beach for children.

You may easily engage in canoeing, paddle boating, banana boating, and stand-up paddleboarding because the water is so calm.

Expert Tip

Spending extra time and effort to pack a picnic for your family or friends are unnecessary.

Numerous stands, eateries, and beach bars are located along Ferradura Beach and offer many inexpensive, tasty foods and drinks.

  1. Jericoacoara Beach — Jijoca de Jericoacoara, Ceará

The undeveloped shoreline of Jericoacoara Beach, also referred to as Jeri Beach, is noted for its vast dunes.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Visit Jericoacoara Beach with your friends or special someone for a trip you’ll never forget.

It features a calm, laid-back attitude that is perfect if you want a more tranquil beach experience.

For a memorable bonding experience, you can engage in various enjoyable activities, such as kitesurfing, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and other exciting water sports.

Expert Tip

The Sunset Dune, or Duna do Pôr do Sol, is located on the left side of Jericoacoara Beach.

To experience the most mesmerizing and stunning sunset, climb up this dune.

  1. Praia do Rosa — Imbituba, Santa Catarina

Rose Beach, also known as Praia do Rosa, is a stunning seven-kilometer stretch of coastline.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Brazil is home to numerous stunning beaches, Praia do Rosa being one of the best.

This sandy shoreline is the perfect place for you to go on an exciting water adventure.

Go kitesurfing, sport fishing, windsurfing, boating, stand-up paddleboarding, and many other activities to have new experiences with your friends.

You can observe the whales doing their mating rituals if you go in the winter.

Expert Tip

In-house surfing instruction is available for beginners at Praia do Rosa.

It is a terrific alternative if you don’t know how to surf but want to learn or hone your skills.

  1. Maragogi Beach — Alagoas

Maragogi Beach, with its soaring coconut trees, crystal-clear sea, and endless coastline views, is breathtakingly gorgeous.

The most significant barrier reef in all of Brazil is its cherished possession.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Visit Maragogi Beach, one of Brazil’s top beaches, with your family or friends for a lifetime trip.

You can enjoy doing a lot of great, enjoyable activities together, like scuba diving or snorkeling the spectacular barrier reef, teaching your kids to swim in the natural pools created by low tides, tanning on the beach, and a ton more.

Expert Tip

Visit the beachfront Maragogi Dive Sub for scuba-related activities.

This one-stop store provides diving lessons, guided excursions, and dive equipment rentals for you and your traveling companions.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
