Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, the need for additional medical staff has increased drastically. For this reason, thousands of students all over the world have started seriously considering going into nursing after completing their high school careers.

There are plenty of reasons as to why this career option is such a good one. In this article, we will be mentioning a few of the most significant factors that you should consider before dismissing nursing as a potential career match.

Nurses Are In Very High Demand

As we have already mentioned, nurses and other medical staff are in extremely high demand right now. However, this has been the case for a few years already. In fact, for the last ten years or so, the US has experienced a rapidly growing nursing shortage.

In 2019, the WHO announced that we would need to increase the number of working nurses by roughly 6 million to meet patient demand. For this reason, you are more than likely to find work very easily if you go into nursing.

The Job Is Secure

Around the world, plenty of jobs are being taken over by machinery. For example, factory workers everywhere are losing their jobs because of advancements in technology. Fortunately for nurses, they are safe from this evolution.

No matter what happens, people will always be needed to monitor and maintain human health. For this reason, you will not have to worry about losing your job in the future.

You Will Be Able To Make A Positive Impact

One of the most significant factors that many people consider when looking for a job is how big of an impact they will make in the world. For this reason, millions of students decide to go into environmental research, journalism, etc. However, one of the most influential jobs in the world has to be nursing.

These medical professionals work tirelessly to help and treat sick patients. They even save lives daily. If you consider all the hospitalized patients during the pandemic, it is easy to say that the death rate would be much higher without the help of nurses and other doctors.

For this reason, these workers are starting to be seen as real-world heroes, making this career perfect for anybody who wants to make a difference.

Concluding Thoughts

There are various reasons why you should consider a career in nursing. This job is in high demand, meaning that you will find work easily. The job is also secure, as no technology or machinery will ever replace medical professionals. Finally, these workers have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the world every day.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
