In today’s digital age, students face a constant barrage of information online. It’s crucial they learn to navigate this landscape effectively, distinguishing credible news from misinformation. To equip them with these critical skills, several organizations have created powerful, visually engaging infographics that provide essential guidance for navigating the online world.

These infographics cover a wide range of topics, from recognizing fake news to understanding the different types of media and their biases. They highlight key warning signs of questionable information, such as clickbait headlines, emotionally charged language, or a lack of supporting evidence. Furthermore, they emphasize the importance of verifying information from multiple sources, exploring the website’s credibility, and considering the author’s potential biases.

By utilizing a blend of text, graphics, and icons, these infographics make complex information digestible and engaging for students. They provide a framework for critical thinking and help students develop a healthy skepticism towards online content. This, in turn, empowers them to become informed citizens who can navigate the digital world with confidence and discernment.

These valuable resources are available online, offering teachers, parents, and students a powerful tool for navigating the complex world of online information. By utilizing these infographics, we can empower students to become discerning consumers of news and information, fostering a generation equipped to navigate the complexities of the digital age.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
