Introduction:

Amidst the growing popularity of hybrid and electric vehicles, not everyone is ready to make the switch. For those who prefer traditional gasoline-powered SUVs, fuel efficiency is still a major concern. In this article, we will take a look at some of the most fuel-efficient SUVs that aren’t hybrids or EVs.

1. Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 offers a stylish design and great fuel economy in its class. With a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the CX-5 is capable of up to 25 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. If you need an SUV that offers efficiency without sacrificing style or performance, the Mazda CX-5 might be just what you’re looking for.

2. Honda CR-V

With its reputation for reliability and fuel efficiency, the Honda CR-V continues to be an excellent choice for those who need an SUV with respectable gas mileage. The standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine gets up to 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. It also offers a spacious interior and ample cargo space.

3. Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester combines impressive gas mileage with its standard all-wheel-drive capability. Boasting a fuel economy of up to 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, the Forester remains a practical choice for those seeking adventure without compromising on efficiency.

4. Chevrolet Equinox

While it might come as a surprise, the Chevrolet Equinox provides excellent fuel efficiency with its small yet powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, allowing it to achieve up to 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway while delivering robust performance.

5. Ford Escape

The Ford Escape is another fuel-efficient SUV that doesn’t disappoint. With its 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, the Escape is capable of achieving up to 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while still offering ample space for passengers and cargo.

Conclusion:

While hybrids and electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, there are still plenty of options for those who prefer traditional gasoline-powered SUVs that offer great fuel efficiency. The aforementioned models exemplify the perfect blend of performance and economy without compromising on style or function, making them the best choices for fuel-conscious drivers seeking non-hybrid SUV options.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
