September 2024 Wally Cordes Chair: Deb Korth
The University of Washington (UW) has announced a new era in its fundraising efforts with the appointment of Deb Korth as the Wally Cordes Chair. Korth, a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of philanthropic giving and a passion for higher education, takes the reins from the retiring Steve Sundquist.
Korth brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Executive Director of the UW Foundation’s Office of Gift Planning and as the Senior Director of Development for the School of Law. Her expertise in strategic planning, donor relations, and capital campacommitment to the university and her deep understanding of our mission will be invaluable as we embark on this new chapter.
As Wally Cordes Chair, Korth will oversee a broaign management makes her uniquely qualified to lead the UW Foundation’s fundraising initiatives.
Deb has a proven track record of success in fostering relationships with donors and building strong fundraising programs, said President Ana Mari Cauce. Her d range of fundraising activities, including major gift campaigns, annual giving programs, and planned giving initiatives. Her priorities include maximizing philanthropic support for UW’s academic endeavors, research, and student support programs.
