Mom’s hack for getting her baby to stop crying in the car? Take a selfie!

Spread the love

We’ve all been there. You’re stuck in traffic, your baby is screaming their lungs out, and you’re about to lose your mind. But one mom has found a surprisingly simple solution: take a selfie!

This ingenious hack, shared by a viral TikTok video, is more than just a funny meme. It actually works, and here’s why:

Distraction: The act of taking a selfie forces you to focus on something else, momentarily taking your mind off the crying and allowing you to calm down.

Laughter: The absurdity of the situation, taking a selfie while your baby screams, can be hilarious. Laughter is a natural stress reliever, and it can help break the tension.

Documenting the moment: Whether it’s the hilariousness or the frustration, taking a selfie can help you remember the situation later. It can become a funny anecdote or a reminder of the fleeting nature of babyhood.

Social connection: Sharing the selfie online can connect you with other parents going through the same thing, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding.

Of course, this hack isn’t a cure-all. Sometimes, a crying baby needs a diaper change, a feed, or just some good old-fashioned cuddles. But in moments of overwhelming frustration, a quick selfie can be a valuable tool for a frazzled parent.

So next time you’re stuck in the car with a screaming baby, consider snapping a selfie. You might just find yourself laughing through the tears (literally).

Bonus Tip: Tag your selfie with #selfieforsanity or #babycryingproblems to connect with other parents who get it!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
