The newest updates to the award-winning ADVANCE Suite empower instructional coaches to provide feedback or host group meetings in real time

(Encino, CA) February 12, 2019 – Insight ADVANCE, creator of groundbreaking tools for teachers’ professional growth, today announced a collection of updates to its award-winning observation and instructional coaching software. The company’s video-based suite of products is designed to improve educators’ professional growth through self-reflection, peer collaboration, and frequent feedback.

With the latest update, the award-winning product ADVANCEfeedback® will offer robust live video features and functionality. ADVANCElive, the new synchronous video feature, allows users to schedule, launch, record, and archive live coaching events. The new feature is designed for several use cases: post-observation one-on-one coaching for teachers, specialized professional development or instructional coaching for small groups, and conducting meetings and trainings for professional learning communities.

“As research continues to affirm the fact that instructional coaching has the greatest potential for improving practice, it’s critical that we continue to find ways to ensure teachers have access to ongoing coaching opportunities,” said Dr. Michael Moody, the co-founder of Insight ADVANCE. “ADVANCElive aims to deliver on our promise of bringing coaching to all teachers with greater frequency, transforming what PD looks like in classrooms every day and, ultimately, improving outcomes for students our teachers serve.”

A one-stop online solution for instructional coaching and professional learning, ADVANCEfeedback now allows observers to provide framework-aligned feedback and coaching using recorded video or while sitting in a classroom and performing a live observation. Coaches and administrators will now have the ability to offer live feedback and coaching to an individual or a group, with the option to tie it to an existing observation.

“We continue to be inspired by the educators we work with and their use of asynchronous video in ADVANCEfeedback for self-reflection, peer feedback, and coaching,” said Don Rescigno, CEO of Insight ADVANCE. “With the addition of synchronous video, we’re giving them more opportunities for instructional coaching. And, we’re doing it all in one platform.”

This latest update will help schools train and retain teachers—plus improve teacher practice—through more frequent feedback and coaching without increased costs. Other benefits of the Insight ADVANCE suite of products include:

  • Increased self-reflection and peer collaboration among educators;
  • More effective coaches;
  • The ability to track teacher growth data;
  • Real-time differentiated support for teachers so they know who to focus on and what they need; and
  • Improved student achievement.

“As one of five districts focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of teachers and school leaders by way of the E3 Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, we are already seeing the benefits of using the ADVANCEfeedback video software for instructional coaching and improving teacher practice,” said Dr. Kandace Bethea, superintendent of Marion County Public Schools in South Carolina. “The ability to provide additional opportunities for coaching and professional learning using ADVANCElive in the same platform will be a game-changer for our rural district, as well as other districts in our networked improvement community.”

Attendees at the National Conference on Education taking place in Los Angeles from February 14 to 16 can experience the new features in person at booth #423.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
