Overview of Hunter College Admissions

Over half of applicants to Hunter College are unsuccessful in receiving an offer of admission. You’re going to need grades and test scores that are over mean to get admitted. Applicants must complete an online application, and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. Students with unique talents and accomplishments can still receive strong consideration even if their GPAs are outside the admission offices’ mean range. After applying, students will receive a message from an admissions counselor about the next steps of the application process.

Admissions Data

The acceptance rate was 36% for applicants to CUNY Hunter in 2019. For every 100 applicants, 36 gained admission letters, and 64% were denied admission. As these numbers suggest, Hunter has a selective admissions process.

The majority of students at Hunter are among the top 20% of all test-takers. The median 50% of students earned between 570 and 650 on the evidence-based reading and writing test. 25% scored a 570 or lower, and 25% scored a 650 or above. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
