How to Delete Purchases from Your Amazon Order History

Introduction:

Amazon is a popular e-commerce platform, offering a massive range of products and services for customers around the world. However, sometimes we all have that one purchase that we’d rather not show up in our order history. Whether you made a mistake or wish to keep a purchase private, deleting it from your order history can be a lifesaver. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of deleting purchases from your Amazon order history.

Step 1: Login to your Amazon account

First, ensure that you are logged into your Amazon account on either the desktop website or the mobile app. If you’re not logged in yet, enter your email and password into the necessary fields and click “Sign in.”

Step 2: Access your Order History

Once logged in, navigate to “Your Orders” by clicking on “Your Account” located on the top-right corner of the page, and then selecting “Your Orders” from the dropdown menu. For mobile users, tap on the three horizontal lines icon found on the top-left corner of the app screen and select “Your Orders.”

Step 3: Locate the purchase you want to delete

Your orders will be displayed in chronological order with filters available for specific timeframes. Browse through your orders or use the search feature to find the specific purchase you want to delete.

Step 4: Archive the order

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t allow users to permanently delete an order entirely from their history. However, there’s a workaround – archiving. When you archive an order, it becomes hidden and will not appear in your regular order history unless you access Archived Orders.

To archive an order on desktop:

– Click on “Order Details” beside the intended purchase.

– Scroll down until you see a button labeled “Archive Order,” then click on it.

– A prompt asking for confirmation will appear; click on “Archive Order” again to confirm.

To archive an order on the mobile app:

– Tap on the order you’d like to hide.

– Scroll down and select “Archive Order.”

– Confirm your decision by tapping on “Archive Order” once more.

Step 5: Accessing archived orders (optional)

If you ever need to access your archived orders, simply follow these steps:

On desktop:

– Go to the “Your Account” dropdown menu and select “Your Orders.”

– Scroll down and find “Archived Orders” located at the bottom left of the page. Click it to access your archived purchases.

On the mobile app:

– Tap on the three horizontal lines icon and select “Your Orders.”

– Scroll down and locate “Archived Orders,” then tap on it to reveal your hidden purchases.

Conclusion:

While it’s not possible to completely delete a purchase from your Amazon order history, archiving offers a useful way to hide sensitive or unwanted orders from view. Make sure to follow these easy steps when you need a little more privacy in your online shopping experience. Happy shopping!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
