Hampton University is a private HBCU situated on a waterfront campus in Hampton, Virginia. It has a 13 to 1 student/faculty ratio, and students come from 49 states and 35 countries. The institution has a large selection of undergraduate and graduate degree programs for students to choose from. Outside of the classroom, students will find plenty of opportunities to engage with the campus community via the university’s many clubs and organizations. The Hampton University Pirates play in the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Overview of Hampton University Admissions

To apply to Hampton University, students will need to submit SAT or ACT scores (those with higher GPAs have the option of not sending in scores), an academic transcript, a letter of recommendation, a writing sample (prompts are given on Hampton’s website), and the application form. Students with unique talents and accomplishments can still receive strong consideration even if their GPAs are outside of the admissions offices mean range. After applying, students will receive a message from an admissions counselor about the next steps of the application process. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
