Overview of Bethune-Cookman University

Bethune-Cookman University is an urban, private institution associated with the United Methodist Church. The institution ranks well nationally among historically black institutions and universities. The 82-acre site is situated in Daytona Beach, Florida. Students can choose from 35 majors from the institution’s seven academic schools. Professional majors — business, marketing, nursing, and mass communications — are most popular with undergraduates. Outside of the classroom, students will find plenty of opportunities to engage with the campus community via the university’s many clubs and organizations. In athletics, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats play in the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The institution sponsors eight men’s and nine women’s sports.

Overview of Bethune-Cookman University Admissions

Students with good grades and good test scores are likely to be admitted. Applicants must complete an online application, and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. Half of the students submit SAT scores while half submit ACT scores. Glowing recommendation letters can bolster your application, along with being involved with student organizations and attempting a challenging course load. After applying, students will receive a message from an admissions counselor about the next steps of the application process. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
