Are you looking for barcode scanner apps, tools, and resources that you can use with your students? If so, we have you covered. Check out our list below. Let us know if there are any that we missed.

Bloomz– This is the face of parent-teacher communication. Teachers can send out daily announcements and reminders and recruit volunteers for school events using this platform. It provides a safe environment for students who want to share their work by scanning a QR code and putting a watermark on it. The teacher then shares the student’s work on their timeline. Even though Bloomz is free, there might be occasional experiments with premium features.

Epson iProjection– This is a wireless projection app available on iOS devices using the Epson projector. The app allows you to move about the room or stage with freedom as your presentation is cast on the projector. The app supports documents, images, and web pages saved on your device. It connects on a local network or via QR code scanning.

OoGali– OoGali provides you with a smoother, more efficient way to collect data for the price of less than a ream of paper. It records student behavior automatically, in real time using innovations such as QR codes and mobile technology so that you do not have to even look at your device. Guide your students by spending quality time interacting with them instead of focusing on your record book or your device. OoGali does one thing, which is to record behavior (good or bad). You decide what you make of it.

QR Treasure Hunt Generator– This app is designed for teachers who want to make their students move around while having fun with the learning process. This app requires no Internet connection. Teachers can input a vast amount of questions and answers into the app, which in turn generates a QR code for each item. The QR code can be pasted anywhere for students to find, students with the correct most answers to the questions they find win.

QR Wild– This is a QR Scavenger Hunt game. With this app, anyone can create scavenger hunts by generating QR codes that can be pasted in the real world or on the web. The game uses a point system based on the QR codes found. QR codes can also serve as hints for finding other hidden QR codes. You can sync the app to your social media account for easy sharing with friends and family.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
