Odysseyware a 2016 CODiE Award Finalist for Learning Solution

The online courseware provider earns prestigious education industry recognition for ‘opening doors for learners of all ages’

(CHANDLER, AZ) April 27, 2016 — Odysseyware, a leading provider of dynamic and customizable online courses for K-12 education, today announced that it has been named a finalist for the 2016 SIIA CODiE Awards in the category of Best Learning Capacity-Building Solution. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for more than 30 years. Odysseyware was named as one of 160 finalists across 29 education technology categories.

“It is a high honor for Odysseyware to be recognized by the SIIA CODiE awards among so many innovative companies,” said Beth TeGrotenhuis, Odysseyware’s president and the CEO of its parent company, Glynlyon. “The nomination provides strong validation that we are providing districts with the innovative tools they need to help students achieve their goals while providing completely customizable curriculum and flexibility to educators across the nation.”

CODiE winners will be announced during a virtual award ceremony on May 18. The top honor of best overall educational product will be presented at the Education Industry Symposium, the nation’s leading education technology conference, in Denver on July 26. The announcement will take place during a special celebration party and dinner. 

“Every year the list of CODIE finalists is a case study of how the ed tech industry is using new technologies in combination with knowledge about how people learn to respond to customer needs. They’re opening doors for learners of all ages.” said Karen Billings, vice president and managing director of the Education Technology Industry Network of SIIA.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
