The state to visit for waterways and coastlines is Maryland.

You can choose from lakes and rivers to lovely bays and oceans.

So the Free State is the best option if you are dying to travel to a beach destination.

All set for some Vitamin Sea?

The top beaches in Maryland that you should visit are listed below

  1. Ocean City — Ocean City

One of the most famous resort towns in the region is Ocean City.

Its ten-mile-long shoreline offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Why We Recommend This Beach

The vast and easily accessible public waterfront at Ocean City is a top beach to visit in Maryland.

It has a large area of powdered sand for you to play and rest.

You can also swim in the ocean (provided you stay near a lifeguard).

Expert Tip

Do not forget to stroll a 3-mile boardwalk down the city and discover the fantastic local cuisine.

Ocean City is one of the most famous beaches in Maryland because of this fascinating ocean attraction.

  1. Cherry Beach — Sharptown

Cherry Beach, along the Nanticoke River, is about 15 minutes from Salisbury.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Do you want to go canoeing or engage in other water sports?

Cherry Beach is a beautiful location for pleasant and relaxing water rides.

For times when you need a break, it even contains picnic spots.

Expert Tip

Cherry Beach boat ramp and pier make it the ideal location for boating and fishing.

However, due to rough rivers, swimming is not advisable.

  1. Sandy Point State Park — Annapolis

On the Chesapeake Bay, there is a 786-acre state park called Sandy Point State Park.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Spend the day in Sandy Point State Park if you want a full day at the beach.

You will do many things like boating, picnicking, swimming and sunbathing.

Expert Tip

Sandy Point State Park is the top pick for the safest beaches for kids in this state.

It is famous for its swimming beaches, with relatively calm waves.

Additionally, there are lifeguards on duty.

The sandy beachfront is wide enough for playing and building sandcastles.

  1. Deep Creek Lake — Swanton

The largest inland lake in the state is Deep Creek Lake.

It is artificial and covers roughly 3,900 acres.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Deep Creek Lake offers stunning views of the Serenity Mountains in western Maryland.

When you want to feel calm, a stroll along one of Maryland’s most beautiful beaches is perfect.

Expert Tip

In addition to peaceful strolls, the lake offers stand-up paddle boarding, jet skiing, tubing, and other activities.

  1. Breezy Point Beach — Chesapeake Beach

Breeze Point Beach is half a mile of powder-white sand along the Chesapeake Bay.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Breezy Point Beach is one of the best swimming beaches.

Unwanted marine life, such as jellyfish, is kept out by the large swimming area’s net.

Additionally, the waves are relatively calm.

Expert Tip

In addition to swimming, Breezy Point Beach includes a 200-foot pier where you can also go fishing.

  1. Assateague Island National Seashore — Berlin

The seashore of Assateague Island National is 37 miles long.

Here is the 800-acre Assateague State Park.

It is probably the best beach spot in Maryland for swimming.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Enjoy your time wading in Betterton Beach to the fullest.

On the beach, there are volleyball courts you can use.

  1. Cunningham Falls — Thurmont

The 6,080-acre Cunningham Falls State Park has Cunningham Falls, the biggest cascading waterfall in the state.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Want to go on an exciting adventure?

Go for a hike to Cunningham Falls.

There are several different types of trails in the park. Some are steep and rocky, while others are short and flat.

But ultimately, watching the waterfalls and wading in the water made the trip worthwhile.

Expert Tip

The 43-acre artificial William Houck Lake is a great place to go swimming while you are here.

  1. Elk Neck State Park — North East

Between the Elk River and the Chesapeake Bay is a 2,369-acre recreation area called Elk Neck State Park.

Why We Recommend This Beach

If you wish to go swimming, canoeing, and fishing, spend the day on the park’s western side.

  1. Hart-Miller Island State Park — Kingsville

A Chesapeake Bay island known as Hart-Miller State Park is uninhabited and situated close to the Middle River.

Why We Recommend This Beach

A secluded island sounds lovely when you want to escape from the people.

The 3,000-foot sandy beach at Hart-Miller, which is only reachable by personal boat, is available for your enjoyment.

Expert Tip

Prepare yourself for an experience similar to a castaway.

You can go boating, fishing, and swimming.

The park also offers opportunities for motorcycling, camping, and hiking.

  1. Gunpowder Falls State Park — Middle River

The public recreation area with a 1,500-foot beach along the Gunpowder River is called the Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Since it is a swimming beach, you may wade in the sea on this waterfront.

However, go with caution and stay with a friend.

Do not swim by yourself.

Expert Tip

This beach is ideal for looking for shark teeth and fossils if you do not want to get wet.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
