1. Organizer: Use sticky notes to create colorful labels for different subjects, projects, or deadlines. Stick them to the edge of your desk or wall for easy reference.

2. Reminder: Write important dates or reminders on sticky notes and place them on your computer monitor or inside your planner. This will help you stay organized and never miss a deadline.

3. Student feedback: Use sticky notes to provide quick feedback to students. Write positive comments or areas for improvement on sticky notes and stick them to their assignments or notebooks.

4. Lesson planning: Use sticky notes to outline lesson plans. Write each activity or topic on a separate sticky note and arrange them on a board or wall to visualize your lesson sequence.

5. Bookmarking: Use smaller sticky notes to bookmark important pages in textbooks or workbooks. They are removable and won’t damage the books.

6. Classroom management: Use different colored sticky notes to assign tasks or responsibilities to students. Stick them on a designated board or chart for easy reference and rotation.

7. Assessment tracking: Write students’ names on sticky notes and move them on a tracking chart as they progress through assessments or assignments. This visual representation helps monitor individual progress.

8. Vocabulary practice: Write new vocabulary words on sticky notes and stick them around the classroom. Encourage students to find and use these words throughout the day.

9. Collaborative brainstorming: Use sticky notes during group activities or brainstorming sessions. Each student can write their ideas on separate sticky notes and then stick them to a poster or chart for everyone to see.

10. Interactive bulletin boards: Create interactive bulletin boards using sticky notes. Students can write their thoughts, questions, or responses on sticky notes and stick them on the board.

11. Exit tickets: Give students one sticky note at the end of each class and have them write a summary of what they learned or any questions they have. Collect the sticky notes to review understanding and address concerns.

12. Time management: Use sticky notes to create a visual schedule or to-do list for the day. This helps you prioritize tasks and stay on track.

13. Classroom decoration: Use colorful sticky notes to create art or patterns on the classroom walls or windows. It adds a vibrant and creative touch to the learning environment.

14. Parent communication: Write short messages or reminders for parents on sticky notes and send them home with students. This quick and personalized communication bridges the gap between home and school.

15. Team communication: Leave sticky notes for your fellow teachers or staff members to communicate important information, reminders, or requests in a clear and concise manner.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
