10 Not to Miss Education Conferences in 2020

Looking for an education conference to attend in 2020? Don’t worry, just check out our list below.

1. Best Early Childhood Education Conference January 29- February 1, 2020/Chicago, IL

Opening Minds USA convenes influencers and leaders from various areas of human endeavor to focus on research and best practices for young children. If you work in an area that serves young children, then you need to be at this conference, front row, and center.

2. 82nd Annual ITEEA Conference March 11-14, 2020/Baltimore, MD

Technology and engineering instruction will take center stage at the 2020 International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Conference. Educators will learn how these to use these fields to take their STEM instruction to the next level.

3. ASCD Empower20 March 13-16, 2020/Los Angeles, CA

The ASCD (Association for the Supervision of Curriculum Development” provides a wide variety of professional development opportunities for educators. You will have a chance to attend roundtable discussions, simulations, talks, keynote speeches, breakout sessions, presentations, etc.  

4. 8th Annual Deeper Learning Conference March 25-27, 2020/San Diego, CA

Teachers and education leaders will assemble to solve real issues in education by networking, discussing education trends, and reflecting on personal practice. This year’s meeting will focus on developing equitable outcomes by engaging students in deeper learning.  DL2020 will help educators to become agents of change, disruptors, and innovators of teaching and learning.

5. NCTM April 1-4, 2020/Chicago, IL

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics brings curious and forward-thinking math teachers together to learn about new instructional practices related to student strengths, assessment, professionalism, and more.

6. Education Elements Summit 2020 May 13-15, 2020/Austin, TX

This three-day conference attracts educators from around not only the nation but also the globe. You’ll have access to presentations, breakout sessions, simulations, coaching, and roundtable discussions. It provides attendees with a chance to participate in a national community of practice, network with other educators, and build skills, expertise, and knowledge that they can take back to their teams.

7. National Charter Schools Conference June 21-June 24, 2020/Orlando, FL

The National Charter Schools Conference is the epicenter of professional development for charter schools. The event focuses on advocacy, instruction, governance, leadership, and operations. If you are an education professional that works in a charter school, then attending this event is a must.

8. DT&L Conference August 4-6, 2020/Madison, WI

The Distance Teaching & Learning Conference features innovative experiences for education professionals interested in online education and learning. You’ll leave revitalized and refreshed after participating in workshops centered on tech, pedagogy, course design, policy-shaping, etc.

9. Annual Conference for Middle-Level Education November 12-14, 2020/National Harbor, MD

Middle school education takes patience and expertise, and every teacher or education leader who wants to learn about evidence practices in grades 5-9 will want to attend this event. Because the conference centers on reading and mathematics, you’ll want to stay abreast of the latest trends in these areas of education.

10. NCTE November 19-22, 2020/Denver Colorado

The NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English” gives teachers the chance to expand and enrich their instructional practices and renew their love for English literacy. Attendees will learn, engage, and network. A must for English and Language Arts teachers.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
