1. Nitric Acid and Copper
Take some nitric acid and put a small copper piece in it. The ions of copper and nitrate will form a green solution that will later become brownish-green. When you add water, it will displace the nitrate ions that surround the copper piece, and you will get a blue color solution.
2. Potassium Iodide and Hydrogen Peroxide
The reaction that takes place between these two chemicals forms elephant toothpaste. Their combination produces a column of foam. You can add food colors to this “toothpaste” and get fun-colored themes.
3. Water and Alkali Metals
You can use any one of your favorite alkali metals for this experiment. When you put it in the water, there will be a vigorous reaction. Sodium, potassium, and lithium will burn bright yellow, violet, and red, respectively. Cesium will explode.
4. Thermite Reaction
This experiment displays what happens if iron rusts immediately. Under the right conditions, any metal can burn. Usually, aluminum and iron oxide are the main items for this experiment. You can enclose the mixture within some dry ice before lighting it up to witness a stunning display.
5. Coloring Fire
If you use a flame to heat the ions, the electrons will become excited. After that, they will be less energetic and emit photons. Each chemical’s photons have a different level of energy and create different flame colors. This flame test forms a part of analytical chemistry. It is interesting to see the different colors produced by various chemicals when they come into contact with fire.

7. Lichtenberg Figure
An “electrical tree” or Lichtenberg figure shows the path of electrons at the time of an electrostatic discharge. It is frozen lighting. It is possible to make electrical trees in different ways.
8. Hot Ice Experiment
Sodium acetate is also known as Hot Ice. If you like, you can make it by mixing baking soda and vinegar. You can cool down the sodium acetate solution to such an extent that it can crystallize on command. Heat emanates during the formation of crystals. So though it appears to be like water ice, it is hot.
9. Barking Dog Demonstration
The exothermic reaction between carbon disulfide and nitrogen monoxide or nitrogen oxide is known as the Barking Dog. This reaction takes place in a tube. During this experiment, blue light emanates. You can also hear a barking sound.
If you want to try another form of this experiment, you can apply a coating of alcohol to the inside portion of a transparent jug and ignite the vapor. The flame creates a barking sound.
10. Dehydrate Sugar
When sugar and sulfuric acid react with each other, sugar gets dehydrated violently. As a result, a column of black carbon, heat, and an overwhelming smell of burning caramel, is produced. What did I miss?
