Overview of Penn State Behrend

Penn State Behrend is situated on an 854-acre campus, giving it one of the largest campuses in the entire Penn State system. The institution has broad academic offerings in the humanities, sciences. Biology and business sponsors are amongst the most popular with undergraduates. Academics are backed by a 13 to 1 student/faculty ratio. The institution takes pride in providing students with a major research institution’s resources, but the intimacy of a student-centered institution. The campus has a robust campus life–students can select from well over 100 student organizations and clubs, including a fraternity and sorority system. The Behrend Lions play in the NCAA Division III Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. The institution sponsors ten men’s and ten women’s intercollegiate varsity sports.

With an 89% acceptance rate, Penn State Behrend is an accessible school. Students whose SAT/ACT scores and GPA are within the institution’s requirements have a good chance of being admitted. Applicants should complete an online application and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
