How to See When You Started Following Someone on Instagram

Introduction:

Instagram has become an essential part of our lives, allowing us to connect with friends, family, and even celebrities. One interesting aspect of the platform is discovering when we first started following someone and seeing how long that connection has lasted. Unfortunately, Instagram does not have a built-in feature that displays this information. However, there are workarounds you can use to find out when you started following someone on Instagram. In this article, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to do just that.

Method 1: Manual Scrolling

While this method may be time-consuming, it’s the most direct way to find out when you began following another user on Instagram.

1. Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.

2. Tap on the “Following” tab to see a list of all accounts you follow.

3. Scroll through the list until you find the person in question.

4. Tap on their profile and start scrolling through their posts.

5. As you scroll down, take note of your comments or likes on their posts.

6. Once you find your first interaction with the account, check the date of that post – it’s likely that you started following them around that time.

Method 2: Using Third-Party Tools

Several tools can help you track your Instagram activity, including when you started following someone.

  1. Visit websites like Socialblade (socialblade.com) or Statigram (web.stagram.com).
  2. Create an account and link it to your Instagram profile by logging in using your credentials.

3.Submit the username of the person you want to check.

4.Once their profile is loaded, check for their follower history graph or analytics report that includes dates when users followed or unfollowed them.

5.Find when your username appears in their list; this approximates when you began following them.

Note: Using third-party tools may require giving them access to your Instagram account. Always verify the trustworthiness and security of these tools before using them.

Conclusion:

While Instagram doesn’t provide a straightforward way to check when you started following someone, there are manual and third-party tool alternatives you can use. Be cautious when using any third-party applications and only use well-established and respected services. With the methods above, you can reminisce about how your connections began and see how long they’ve lasted.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
