Feedback is essential when it comes to education, as it can supplement growth and development. However, it can be quite a challenge when it comes to the eLearning environment.

This article will discuss three ways educators can give feedback to learners who use online resources. We will also mention a few tips as to how you can ensure that your feedback is constructive.

Audio Feedback

There are numerous ways in which you can provide your learners with audio feedback. Most educators enjoy using audio recorders to record themselves saying what needs to be said to their learners. This is a good way of delivering feedback to your learners, as it makes it seem much more personalized and sincere.

Instant Messaging

One of the many popular and easiest ways of supplying feedback to your learners is by using instant messaging apps, such as Whatsapp or BBM. Almost all learners that have computers will have access to these apps, meaning that you should have no problem reaching your pupils. Also, you can use instant messaging apps for no fee at all, making this a cheap and easy method of communicating.

Positive Feedback

There are a few ways in which you can provide your learners with constructive feedback:

  • Personalize your feedback based on the strengths and weaknesses of each learner
  • Share your feedback in audio format
  • Make sure that you provide the feedback shortly after returning the results
  • Balance positive and negative aspects
  • Be as specific as possible
  • Provide your feedback consistently

Conclusion

There are numerous ways in which you can provide your online learners with feedback.

You can use the new app called Pedagogue to supply your learners with feedback: it has a virtual classroom feature that will make communication very easy. You could also use an audio recorder to send your pupils audio clips in your lesson. Lastly, most online educators worldwide use instant messaging apps, like Whatsapp and BBM, to discuss results with their learners.

You need to ensure that your feedback is constructive for it to be beneficial to your learners. You can do this by providing feedback consistently, being timely, and personalizing it based on your learners’ strengths and weaknesses.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
