Aashna Doshi’s journey from a Google engineer to an AI startup founder is nothing short of remarkable. At just 23 years old, she made the bold decision to leave one of the most prestigious tech companies in the world to co-found ‘Bounty,’ an innovative AI marketplace focused on outcome-based hiring. What fueled this leap of faith? A podcast that garnered 100,000 views on YouTube.

1. From Google to Uncharted Territory

In May 2026, Aashna Doshi officially resigned from her role at Google, a move that shocked many in her circle. With a stable career path laid out before her, leaving a well-respected position at such a leading organization seemed like a risky venture. But for Aashna, the allure of creating something entirely new and innovative was too hard to resist. It was the podcast—in which she participated alongside her co-founder—that sparked her entrepreneurial spirit and ultimately provided the confidence she needed to make such a significant change.

The podcast discussed key topics around AI, technology, and the future of work, and resonated with a wide audience, racking up impressive view counts. The overwhelming response from listeners acted as a validation for Aashna, allowing her to see that there was a genuine interest in the ideas they were discussing. This social media validation played a crucial role in shaping her decision to take the plunge into the startup world.

2. The Power of Podcasting in Building Confidence

Podcasting has become a significant platform for many aspiring entrepreneurs, and Aashna’s experience exemplifies this trend. As she and her co-founder dove deeper into their discussions, she began to realize that their shared vision for ‘Bounty’ was not just a dream; it had the potential to be a viable business. The podcast allowed her to articulate her thoughts and ideas, making her more confident in her knowledge and capabilities.

By engaging with listeners, Aashna gathered feedback and insights that further fueled her passion. This interaction helped her understand the gaps in the current hiring landscape, especially concerning AI roles, and pointed her towards creating a solution that focused on measurable results rather than just traditional credentials. The podcast not only opened doors for her to share her ideas but also solidified her belief that she could truly make a difference in the industry.

3. Understanding ‘Bounty’ and Its Mission

‘Bounty’ stands out in the crowded AI marketplace by adopting an outcome-based approach to hiring. The startup’s premise is built on the belief that the tech landscape is evolving rapidly, and companies need to adapt their hiring strategies to keep pace. By focusing on results, ‘Bounty’ seeks to connect businesses with candidates who can demonstrate their abilities through actual projects or tasks, thereby fostering a more meritocratic environment.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
