Are you searching for products that you can use to teach across the program of study? Check out the definitive list that we made. Who did we miss?

Edmodo– While social networking has received its fair share of criticism about the bad influence it tolerates, this product is unlike all that. Edmodo is a powerful tool that can be utilized to pool the creative thinking of learners. It helps them think critically while fostering learner-educator partnerships to make projects.

LearnZIllion– LearnZillion is a comprehensive program of study for math, English, and language arts. It contains resources, analytics, and teaching guides. Individual educators may use it for free, but a membership fee is required if the product is deployed across a school district. Not only does this product include learning material, but it also offers complimentary and supplemental resources such as videos to supplement the learning experience.

Build Your Own Curriculum–This online program of study development and dissemination software lets you take a hands-on approach to build curricula for K-12 schools. BYOC is based on the belief that educators should benefit from curricula too; instead of having to rebuild their curricula at the beginning of every school year, they can assess and make tweaks to build appropriate curricula.

CK-12– Assists learners and educators in enhancing elementary learning worldwide by making personal education tools available. Learn more than 5,000 math and science topics at a speed that suits you. Math topics include arithmetic, measurement, algebra, geometry, probability, statistics, trigonometry, analysis, and calculus. Science studies include geography, life science, physical science, biology, chemistry, and physics. Other studies include SAT exam prep, engineering, tech, astronomy, English, and history.

Discovery Education – Discovery Education is a big player in EdTech. The company has established itself as the leading provider of a digital program of study resources, digital content, and professional learning for K-12 classes. Around 5.6 million learners across all 50 states and Canada are currently using Discovery Education. Discovery Education Streaming Plus, the comprehensive digital service supplementing instruction across all K-12 curricular areas, was recently the winner of the EdTech Digest’s Cool Tool Award in the Content Provider Solution category. Discovery Education Streaming Plus supplements instruction materials for all K–12 curricular areas. The supplemental materials include lesson plans, instructional strategies, and other content. Every source of content is available to learners, including primary source documents, books, tapes, audio files, videos, podcasts, interviews, pictures, and more.

Futaba Classroom Games for Children– This product enables one to four learners to conveniently learn with a single iPad by taking a seat around the iPad and tapping it to start. Futaba was made to provide children with an engaging review by supplementing the program of study standards for addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and Dolch sight words for first through third grade.

IXL Learning– IXL Learning has been proven to be effective in offering a comprehensive program of study-based math and English language arts content for kindergarten to grade 12.  It produces real results, which is why it is trusted by top educators and presently utilized by The Elite 100.

Preschool & Kindergarten Games– This is a collection of 15 immersive games that combine fun and entertainment in a unique blend designed to engage and excite your preschool and kindergarten kid’s. Learners’ progress earns them stickers that they can attach to their board. Essential features in the products such as appropriate voice narrations, beautiful illustrations, and playful sound effects help kids to learn letters, spelling, math, and more. The products use the preschool and kindergarten curriculums that comply with the Common Core Standards. The collection comes with two free games; additional games are available for purchase in-product.

Study Island – Study Island is an all-in-one practice website for learners to work on literacy, math, science, and social studies abilities. It is built around state standards, so regardless of your location, the content and practice provided on the website will align with your class teaching. Study Island is a great tool to use for high stakes testing preparation and provides real-time progress monitoring for educators and guardians. Beyond simple practice, Study Island can also be incorporated into class lessons for formative assessment and differentiation. It even enables educators to import NWEA MAP assessment information for individual learners and calculates a targeted learning path to fill in knowledge gaps.

Study.com –  Study.com enables learners to extend their knowledge of course content from home or incorporate it into class lessons to meet learner differentiation needs. There are options to take coursework for university credit, receive homework help or comprehensive study prep, and engage in professional learning work. With videos ranging from the history of Rome to working with fractions, Study.com can be utilized with learners from K-12 and beyond. Any university credit earned is easily transferrable to over 1,500 U.S. colleges and universities. Educators can enroll their classes, assign videos and lessons, and even access printable resources such as worksheets designed to pair with video content.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
