The Performance Matters Platform is the first to combine student and educator data into one integrated solution enabling decision-making that improves teaching, learning and school performance

Sandy, Utah — June 27, 2016 — Research shows that one of the most effective ways to raise student achievement is by providing sustained professional learning opportunities to educators. Student assessment is also one of the most powerful methods for improving learning outcomes across all subjects and grade levels. Yet, for decades, K-12 school districts have struggled to connect the two. Until now. Performance Matters today announces the next-generation Performance Matters Platform.

The new Performance Matters Platform merges the Truenorthlogic professional growth platform with the Performance Matters assessment and analytics platform. It is the first offering from the newly combined company since the completion of the merger between Performance Matters and Truenorthlogic.

“The merger of our two industry leaders means that educators will be able to access professional growth tools and student assessment tools — with powerful, integrated analytics capabilities — in one online platform,” said Jeanette Haren, chief product officer and founder of Truenorthlogic. “By connecting student and educator growth, districts and schools will be able to use student needs to inform their instruction and professional learning. Our integrated solutions will also make it possible for districts to measure the impact of their professional development and educator effectiveness efforts on student achievement.”

“Performance Matters has been a strategic partner for Prince George’s County for many years. Our teachers and administrators rely on it for the administration of our local assessments and for analyzing student data to drive instruction. The Performance Matters merger with Truenorthlogic led us to replace our previous educator evaluation system with Truenorthlogic. Our educators now have one integrated platform for improving instruction and student learning,” said Dr. Kevin Maxwell, CEO, Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland.

“With the Performance Matters Platform, we aim to change the way K-12 educators think about the relationship between professional learning and student learning,” said Woody Dillaha, president and co-founder of Performance Matters. “We’re making connections — and creating insights — that haven’t existed before. These connections will deliver real-time, actionable analytics that educators will use to drive continuous improvement in student learning and instruction.”

About Performance Matters

Performance Matters accelerates student success by combining powerful student and educator growth solutions with real-time analytics. The Performance Matters Platform includes tools for student assessment development and delivery, as well as educator professional learning management, performance evaluation and observer calibration. Together these solutions, leveraged with a real-time analytics engine, provide specific, actionable insights that boost student performance and build educator capacity. Performance Matters was formed through the integration of two best-in-class education solution providers: Truenorthlogic, the leader in educator professional growth tools, and Performance Matters, an authority in student assessment and data analytics. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
