Deciding which college to attend can be a daunting task. For many, it will be the most important decision that they make in their lives. To make an informed decision, you have to consider a lot of variables, such as cost of attendance, financial aid, student/teacher ratio, academics, student life, and more. These factors will either positively or negatively impact the quality of education that you receive.

Do you want to acquire a master’s degree in health science, but don’t know what institution you should attend? Well, if you are as ambitious as I was in my late teens, then you want to attend a top school, instead of an average or mediocre one. Fortunately, we have already done the legwork for you. To help you find the right school for your interests and goals, we’ve compiled a list of 2022’s best master’s in health science programs.

1. University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT

Although it is a big institution, the institution has a low learner-to-faculty ratio of 17:1. Its masters of health science degree is situated in the School of Medicine. The department of Biomedical Informatics was established in 1964 and has some of the most outstanding programs of its kind in the world.

Learners study managerial skills in the health sciences via the MS in biomedical informatics degree. They can select from three paths and practicums geared toward their future career choice. As this is not a research-oriented degree program, learners can focus on career-related skills.

Northwestern University has been rated as the #10 best school in the nation the U.S News & World Report. It can also be taken part- or full-time.

3. California State University–Long Beach, Long Beach, CA

CSULB’s Health Science Master of Public Health degree is dedicated to training leaders who will increase health outcomes in urban communities. Learners will obtain excellent teaching, undergo meaningful research, and make an impact on the local population. Check out these key features:

4. Duke University, Durham, CA

Duke University began as a small local school before the state’s public school system was fully established. Duke’s MS in global health degree is a degree program intended for future researchers, policymakers, and managers. This multidisciplinary degree challenges health issues from an international viewpoint. Only 30 to 35 learners partake in this degree program every session.

For people looking for a challenge, there is a dual JD- MS degree offered with the Duke Law School.

5. Utah State University, Logan, UT

The campus is situated near two beautiful mountain ranges and offers a good balance for people wanting to experience nature but also live in a small city. In 2017, USU was rated the #5 best state institution in the United States by the Washington Monthly. Master’s learners can select from among a few programs offered via the Kinesiology and Health Science department: an MS in health and human movement, master of public health in health promotion, master of fitness promotion, or master of education in physical and sport education. 6. University of Oklahoma–Health Sciences Center, Norman, OK

OU’s master of health sciences degree is offered at the Health Sciences Center, which combines research, technology, and health. About 4,000 learners currently attend classes at this facility at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Health Sciences Center has a master of public health (MPH) along with other degrees. A total of 44 major credits must be taken in each major, and those who are pursuing a dual degree in social work must take 84 credit hours. Below is a sample of degrees available:

7. University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL

The University of Central Florida is commands respect for its research programs; it is also known as a reasonably priced school. Approximately 44 percent of learners graduate debt-free. UCF has an on-campus and online master of health administration degree. There are two degree paths:  health services administration or executive health services administration. The latter is a more professional degree program aimed at those who already have at least three years of experience. Some special features about this degree program consist of:

8. Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA

Drexel has a master of health administration degree. Some common themes consist of but are not limited to risk management and insurance. This degree program is highly adaptable and can be finished in the following formats:

• Online classes with a five-day on-campus residency
• Completion Time: two or three years
• Spring, summer, and winter quarters

Graduates will be ready for mid-level careers in institutions such as health policy companies, hospitals, or nonprofit organizations.

9. Canisius College, Buffalo, NY

Canisius College is a private religious school that long been recognized for its premier degrees. The college was established 150 years ago and has made a huge impact on the culture of the city of Buffalo. Canisius’s MS in health and human performance centers on rehabilitative and preventive health issues. This degree is offered as a blended degree program, with online and on-campus classes. Learners can select either an internship or a thesis, depending on their career objectives.

10. California State University–Fresno, Fresno, CA

Fresno State is one of the 23 institutions in the California State University system. Established in 1911 as a normal school, the institution has grown to over 25,000 learners. Although it is a big school, its mean class size is only about 35 learners. Fresno State’s master of public health degree is a full-time degree program for experienced adults who wish to advance their knowledge and career. Learners will learn how to assess and implement health needs, execute planning, and carry out research.

11. Otterbein University, Westerville, OH

Although it was established by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, learners of all faith backgrounds are welcome here. Due to Otterbein’s excellent degrees that prepare learners for their professional lives, it is routinely rated among the top 20 in the nation. Learners can get ready for the rapidly growing healthcare sector by attending Otterbein’s MS in allied health degree program. With two paths, healthcare administration and exercise and health science, learners will get the career experience they need before graduation. Along with available financial aid, merit-based scholarships are conferred to those who qualify.

12. University of North Florida, Jacksonville, FL

The University of North Florida has a little over 2,000 graduate learners. Its masters of health services degree is offered by the Brooks College of Health, recognized as a college of distinction within the institution. The MS in exercise science and chronic disease degree has research-centered coursework in an array of health concepts. Students learn about preventative medicine, fitness, and rehabilitation. This is a great degree program for people interested in pursuing a PhD.

13. California State University-Dominguez Hills, Carson, CA

At CSUDH, learners can get an MS in health science, with the orthontics and prosthetics concentration. This focused profession works with patients who have suffered from neuromuscular disorders. This degree program consists of:

Johns Hopkins has a master of health science degree via the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Programs are offered through every department, giving learners the chance to study what they truly want. The degree program consists of four full-time terms, ending in a thesis and oral presentation. A sample of areas one can study consist of:

15. Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC

MUSC’s master of public health degree enables learners to concentrate either in biostatistics, epidemiology, or health behavior and health promotion. Future professionals can examine data, implement a policy for improved health outcomes, and promote health awareness.
