Binder clips are versatile tools that can come in handy in so many situations. And teachers, in particular, can benefit from these little wonders. From organizing paperwork to creating DIY solutions, binder clips can make a teacher’s life easier. Here are 20 brilliant binder clip hacks that all teachers need to try:

1. Cable management: Use binder clips to keep your charging cables organized and tangle-free.

2. Cord identification: Attach binder clips to cords and label them to easily identify which cord belongs to which device.

3. Phone stand: Turn a binder clip upside down and use it as a stand for your phone or tablet during video conferences or online lessons.

4. Whiteboard eraser holder: Attach a binder clip to your whiteboard and use it to hold your eraser, making it easily accessible.

5. Desk organization: Use binder clips to divide your desk drawer into sections for better organization of pens, markers, and other small items.

6. Headphone holder: Clip a binder clip to the edge of your desk and use it to hold your headphones, keeping them tangle-free and within reach.

7. Book page marker: Clip a binder clip to the page you stopped reading in your textbook, ensuring you can easily find your place later.

8. Picture holder: Use binder clips to display students’ artwork or important memorabilia on a bulletin board.

9. Document holder: Attach binder clips to the edge of a shelf or cabinet to hold important documents and keep them easily visible.

10. Cable protection: Wrap binder clips around the ends of chargers or cables to prevent them from bending and fraying.

11. Desk cable routing: Use binder clips to route cables neatly under your desk, preventing them from tangling or getting in the way.

12. Pen and pencil holder: Attach a binder clip vertically to your bulletin board or whiteboard and use it to hold pens and pencils.

13. Sorting papers: Clip multiple binder clips along the edge of a basket or tray to sort papers by category or priority.

14. Bag clip: Use binder clips to keep snack bags or chip bags sealed and fresh.

15. Headphone cord extension: Attach a binder clip to your collar or shirt and thread the headphone cord through it to prevent it from tangling or pulling.

16. Keyboard cable management: Clip binder clips to the back of your desk and pass your keyboard cable through them to keep it in place.

17. Cubicle nameplate holder: Attach a binder clip to your cubicle wall and use it to hold your nameplate or photo.

18. Notebook closure: Clip a binder clip around the cover of your notebook to keep it securely closed.

19. Bookshelf label: Attach binder clips to the edge of bookshelves to serve as labels for different subjects or book genres.

20. Marker holder: Clip binder clips to the side of your whiteboard or chalkboard and use them to hold markers, making them easily accessible.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
