As we transition into the cozy and colorful season of fall, why not bring some autumnal vibes into your classroom with fantastic bulletin boards and doors? These creative displays can brighten up the learning environment and add a touch of seasonal charm. Here are ten ideas to inspire you:

1. “Fall Into Learning” Tree: Create a large tree trunk on your bulletin board and use construction paper leaves in various fall colors. Invite students to write their goals or things they are excited to learn on the leaves and attach them to the tree.

2. Pumpkin Patch: Cut out pumpkin shapes from orange paper and place them on a bulletin board. Encourage students to write positive messages or share their favorite fall activities on the pumpkins. You can also add a sign that says “Our Pumpkin Patch of Ideas.”

3. Harvest Cornucopia: Use brown butcher paper or fabric to create a cornucopia shape on your bulletin board. Add paper fruits and vegetables made by the students, showcasing their creativity and celebrating the bounty of the season.

4. Scarecrow Showcase: Bring some fun and friendly scarecrows inside your classroom by creating a scarecrow display on the door. Use colored paper for the scarecrow’s body, and have students design and attach their own scarecrow faces. This can be a collaborative art project.

5. Falling Leaves: Cut out paper leaves in different sizes and colors. Arrange them in a cascading pattern on your door, as if they are falling from above. You can also incorporate students’ names on some of the leaves for a personal touch.

6. Apple Orchard: Turn your bulletin board into a vibrant apple orchard. Cut out large apple shapes and have students write their favorite fall books, apple recipes, or autumn memories on each apple. Arrange them in rows or clusters for a visually appealing display.

7. Thankful Tree: Engage students in gratitude with a thankful tree bulletin board. Draw a large tree trunk on the board and add branches. Have students write things they are thankful for on leaf-shaped paper cutouts and attach them to the branches. This fosters an attitude of gratitude.

8. Harvest Basket: Transform your door into a bountiful harvest basket. Cut out fruits and vegetables from construction paper and arrange them in the shape of a basket. Add a colorful fabric or paper background to complete the look.

9. Fall Quotes: Decorate your bulletin board with inspiring quotes about fall. Use colorful paper and different fonts to make the quotes stand out. This can create a positive and uplifting atmosphere in the classroom.

10 . Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: Give your classroom door a touch of fall flavor by incorporating the popular phrase “Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice.” Use colored paper or vinyl letters to create the text and surround it with autumn-themed decorations like leaves or pumpkins.

These ten fantastic fall bulletin boards and doors can create a warm and inviting atmosphere in your classroom while celebrating the beauty of the season. Let your creativity shine and enjoy the fall spirit with your students!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
