7 Free Family Attractions in Myrtle Beach: Budget Fun!

Who says a trip with the family to Myrtle Beach has to be expensive?

Naturally, a trip with the kids has a high potential for expense.

But Myrtle Beach is a place with a ton of freebies for everyone and is highly wallet-friendly.

And with a little investigation, you can find a ton of enjoyable, free activities for families in this area.

Check out our list of free family activities in Myrtle Beach if you’re looking for a fun family day on a tight budget.

  1. TIGERS Preservation Station

This animal paradise is so beloved by our tiny ones.

You and your children will be able to pet a cuddly tiger during your visit to TIGERS Preservation Station.

It also harbors a wide range of other endearing creatures, like monkeys and reptiles.

Discover many tigers, such as Siberian and Royal Bengal tigers.

Don’t forget to see the exceedingly rare golden tabby tigers while you’re there.

Even though the activities are free, you’ll need to fork over money if you want a keepsake photo with the animals.

Children of all ages will enjoy a pit break at this animal center.

  1. Broadway at the Beach

Looking for free activities in Myrtle Beach that are close to you?

Then, proceed to Broadway at the Beach for 360 acres of cost-free family entertainment.

With its fantastic setting and a vast range of activities, it’s a great place to create memorable experiences for your group.

Visit this multipurpose complex in the summer to take advantage of a wide range of free entertainment options.

Our favorites are the nightly live music and the other amazing acts, like the comedians, jugglers, and people who walk on stilts.

A year-round schedule of regional festivals, including intriguing street performers and other free entertainment, is also available at the property.

Children ages 6 and older can participate in free events at Broadway at the Beach.

  1. Murrells Inlet MarshWalk

Unquestionably, one of the best free things to do in Myrtle Beach with kids is the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.

It’s not just a hidden gem; taking kids on a nature vacation there in Myrtle Beach is equally enjoyable.

On the weekends, stroll along this half-mile boardwalk and take in the spectacular vistas of the swaying saltwater marsh.

Additionally, you can see pelicans, blue herons, and great white herons with this free activity.

Visit it at sunset for a special pit stop to see the horizon painted in gorgeous hues of gold.

Children aged 6 and older can participate in this event without paying admission.

  1. Market Common

Throughout the summer, The Market Common sponsors a number of events that are free to attend.

In addition, Savannah’s Playground, one of our favorite family-friendly attractions in the city, is located there.

View the free outdoor films that are offered every Friday during the summer.

In the summer, you can also take a free carriage ride on Tuesdays (available from 6 to 9 PM).

Simply go to Savannah’s Playground if you can’t make it in the summer and let your kids play while they learn.

  1. Summer Evenings on Ocean Boulevard

The hot summer nights on Ocean Boulevard bring back so many wonderful memories for us.

From June to August, Ocean Boulevard turns into a lively entertainment district every night because of this summer festival.

Watch the free evening entertainment, which includes bands, jugglers, stilt walkers, and street entertainers.

The entertaining and thrilling inflatable jumping rooms are also a hit with kids.

The games are appropriate for children ages 6 and older.

  1. Franklin G. Burroughs founded the Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum.

We urge any families traveling to the city to check out the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum since it is an underappreciated treasure.

This historic establishment, the first and only art museum on the Grand Strand, is housed in a charming old cottage.

Discover the beauty of modern visual art with your children by visiting the museum’s 11 galleries.

Enjoy the works of local artists like Ouida Salvo, Dixie Dugan, and Alex Powers, and allow yourself to be fascinated.

The museum also has unique family-friendly activities and programs for kids, such as Kids Art Summer Camps.

Even though babies and toddlers can go to the museum, only kids ages 9 and up will be very interested in the displays.

  1. The Grand Strand

The Grand Strand must be included on any list of the top activities to do in Myrtle Beach with kids.

The Grand Strand, which spans more than 40 miles of gorgeous coastline, is the city’s main attraction and most likely the reason you are in Myrtle Beach.

The Grand Strand offers a ton of free activities you may participate in with your kids.

Beach games like bocce ball and corn hole are available for you and your friends to play.

You can also build sandcastles, fight with the waves, look for shells, and layout in the sun.

In my opinion, there are countless opportunities for family outings along the Grand Strand.

For kids of all ages, the Grand Strand is the ideal rest stop in this city.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
