Are you looking for a gift for a college student in your life? For thoughtful, practical ideas that meet your budget, go through our list of the best presents for college students.

Even though many students claim that college is the happiest time of their life, it may also be difficult, especially if they suffer from anxiety or homesickness. Fortunately, selecting the ideal present might be the best method to express your concern for the student in your life.

For every occasion, you may find 30 gift ideas for your college student below. Find presents that are useful, enjoyable, and reasonably priced.

1. Charging Cord

Our Recommendation: BSTOEM Lightning Charger

A lengthy power cable can be useful for college students living in dorm rooms. There may be few outlets close to a student’s desk, chair, or bed; a lengthy cable allows them to charge their gadgets while keeping them within reach. The iPhone is among the numerous devices for which this charger is appropriate.

2. Portable Charger

Our Recommendation: 2-Pack Milady Dual USB Portable Charger

Everyone is familiar with the college student who roams about with a phone that is only 10% charged. A portable charger is an ideal present to ensure that students always have a charged phone. Our selection is compatible with the most popular cell phones, including iPhones and Android.

3. Backpack

Our Recommendation: Herschel Heritage Backpack

Since college students must transport textbooks, a laptop, and perhaps other items like fitness attire, the correct college bag is necessary. The Herschel Heritage pack combines usefulness with a traditional style; it has a sleeve for a 15-inch laptop. Additionally, the black design complements almost everything.

4. Noise-Canceling Headphones

Our Recommendation: Sony Noise-Canceling Headphones

All college students need to be able to shut the outside world out when they are studying. Help is available from these Sony noise-canceling headphones. Smart noise cancellation is used in the over-ear design, and the battery life is up to 35 hours. There are no cables needed since these headphones utilize Bluetooth.

5. Coffee Maker

Our Recommendation: Black+Decker Five-Cup Coffee Maker

Some college students use caffeine to keep up with their everyday schedules. Students may brew a pot of coffee in their dorm rooms with this straightforward Black+Decker coffee maker since it does the job well and is reasonably priced. They can make coffee in the early morning without waking up their housemates, thanks to the illuminated on/off switch.

6. Amazon Fire TV Stick

Our Recommendation: Fire TV Stick 4K

Grab a Fire TV Stick for college students who miss the free cable in the dormitories to have the best streaming experience in their off-campus accommodation. Amazon Prime content is accessible to users using the Fire TV Stick. Also available for streaming are YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and other services.

7. Electric Kettle

Our Recommendation: Mueller Ultra Electric Kettle

Boiling water is made simple and safe with an electric kettle. When a student needs a break from the cafeteria, this is useful for preparing a warm beverage like tea or a short lunch. Stainless steel and durable borosilicate glass are used in this kettle.

8. Laptop Cooling Pad

Our Recommendation: Havit HV-F2056 Laptop Cooling Pad

It is simple to carry this practical item since it is thin, light, and portable. The adjustable pad employs three whisper-quiet fans to maintain a pleasant temperature on the student’s lap and a cool PC. A USB connection is included for attaching extra devices.

9. Planner

Our Recommendation: Clever Fox Ultimate Achiever’s Goal Planner

Using a planner, the student in your life may easily keep track of their responsibilities, assignments, errands, and other notes. With the help of the premium planner from Clever Fox, kids can manage their objectives, money, and courses in a fun and original manner.

10. Phone Sanitizer and Charger

Our Recommendation: PhoneSoap 3 UV Phone Sanitizer and Universal Charger

Even though smartphones are notoriously filthy, using this tool may help eliminate germs. It has several colors and serves as a phone charger and a sanitizer. It works with all smartphone models and kills 99.99% of all germs using UV-C lamps.

11. Popcorn Popper

Our Recommendation: Original Colonel Popper Microwave Popcorn Maker

With the help of this BPA-free, silicone popcorn maker, customers may prepare their nutritious snacks in the microwave. They need kernels and their preferred spices! The popper folds down for simple storage and comes in various colors. It has side handles and can be cleaned easily in the dishwasher.

12. Under-Bed Storage Bags

Our Recommendation: Onlyeasy Foldable Underbed Bags

Dorm rooms are often small and have little room for storage. Students can keep necessities beneath their beds thanks to the extra space created by these foldable under bags. The eco-friendly and airy design keeps everything in storage fresh. Even with hefty contents, these bags’ handles make them easy to maneuver.

13. Bedside Caddy

Our Recommendation: Lib Large Bedside Caddy

Students may store all their essentials in this caddy next to their bed, which is particularly useful if there isn’t space for a bedside table in their apartment. Books or periodicals, pens, and compartments are provided for a phone, laptop or tablet. The caddy easily hooks over a bed frame and is available in various colors.

14. Desk Lamp

Our Recommendation: CUMKA LED Desk Lamp With Wireless Charger

Choosing the correct illumination is crucial for late-night study sessions. This LED light has a USB connector for charging and is compatible with wireless charging devices. The lamp has an automated off-timer set for 30 or 60 minutes, and its LED lights are more comfortable for the eyes than conventional lightbulbs.

15. Instant Pot

Our Recommendation: Instant Pot Zest Plus 20-Cup Slow Cooker

Instant Pot is one of the greatest appliances for quick, convenient, nutritious meals. There is plenty of room in this 20-cup size for stews, soups, and other foods. The Pot has nine intelligent features, including sauté, steam, & slow cook.

16. Wallet Clip

Our Recommendation: ARW Carbon Fiber Wallet Money Clip

This money clip has RFID blocking to prevent credit card information from being stolen by bystanders. The clip is strong and sturdy due to its sleek design, which weighs a little over 2 ounces, and premium carbon fiber shell.

17. Storage Ottoman

Our Recommendation: YOUDENOVA Storage Ottoman Cube

In a college dorm, storage space might be difficult to come by. The finest furniture performs many different tasks. This ottoman gives your student a spot to rest their feet and a storage space. Additionally, it has sponge cushioning for added comfort and durability.

18. Lap Desk

Our Recommendation: LapGear Home Office Lap Desk

Students might use a lap desk to use the cozy furnishings in their dorms more effectively. If their roommate is already asleep, it provides them with a space to study. This LapGear model has a vertical phone slot, numerous color options, and an integrated mouse pad.

19. Water Bottle

Our Recommendation: Iron Flask Insulated Water Bottle

Consider giving an insulated water bottle to a college student who is always on the road so they can keep hydrated. This water bottle maintains the temperature of both hot and cold beverages, making it ideal for student-athletes and those with early morning classes. Our selection includes three lids to ensure students have the ideal drinking experience.

20. Photo Clip String Lights

Our Recommendation: LECLSTAR Photo Clip String Lights

Homesick college students will love the warmth that picture clip string lights provide to any space. The students may hang the lights on the walls, and pictures can be fastened with the clips. These battery-operated lights may be used inside, outdoors, and even in dorm rooms and apartments.

21. Bed Shelf

Our Recommendation: Original BedShelfie for Bed and Bunk Shelves

Users of the BedShelfie may securely reach objects from their beds, such as a drink, a phone, and reading material. The BedShelfie, which comes in several sizes, is perfect for places where a bedside table would not fit, such as a dorm dormitory.

22. Personal Safe

Our Recommendation: Master Lock 5900D Portable Safe

A college-bound student could be concerned about protecting their possessions while moving into a dorm room with a stranger. Students may keep vital valuables like cellphones, credit cards, cash, and IDs in a personal safe from Master Lock. Users of this portable safe may also choose their combination.

23. Night Light and Alarm Clock

Our Recommendation: Aisuo Lamp With Alarm Clock and Bluetooth Speaker

With this entertaining night light and alarm clock, you may assist the college-bound student in your life in getting up in time for class. This gadget has a huge battery that can be recharged by a USB wire in around six hours and has three brightness settings and 48 color combinations. This Bluetooth speaker from Aisuo also functions as a night light.

24. Electronics Organizer

Our Recommendation: BAGSMART Electronics Organizer Travel Bag

Students can conveniently store their chargers, wires, and gadgets in this Bagsmart electronics organizer. It’s beneficial for folks who need to charge gadgets when away from home and is excellent for vacation. This slim item is available in three colors, making it simple to tuck into a bag or backpack.

25. Power Strip

Our Recommendation: BESTEK 6-Outlet Power Strip With USB Ports

It might be useful to have additional power outlets since a student may have few alternatives in a dorm room. This circular power strip includes four USB charging ports with six outlets. It also has a tiny footprint and a 6-foot extension chord, making it perfect for apartments.

26. Folding Chair

Our Recommendation: Urban Shop Super Soft Faux Fur Saucer Folding Chair

Any dorm room needs a comfy chair. It offers an option for a desk and bed and a space for guests to sit. Your learner may snuggle up and recline with this foldable saucer chair. Any décor looks well with the straightforward black design.

27. Bluetooth Speaker

Our Recommendation: JBL Charge 4 Waterproof Speaker

A speaker is a must for college since it may provide a playlist for friends’ visits or a soundtrack for studies. The JBL Charge 4 has a 20-hour battery life and is waterproof and portable. It comes in a variety of colors and charges using a USB connector.

28. Dry-Erase Sticky Notes

Our Recommendation: MC SQUARES 4×4 Reusable Sticky Notes

These reusable dry-erase sticky notes provide a convenient method to take notes, list reminders and manage tasks. Glass, steel, and aluminum are just a few of the materials that the pads will adhere to. They may also be attached to cabinets with the help of the reusable, residue-free adhesive Bubble Bond.

29. Flash Drive

Our Recommendation: SanDisk 128 GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Flash drives may provide students with a secure location to save their most crucial documents and assignments when Dropbox and Google Drive are insufficient. Larger files can be stored on this SanDisk flash drive since it has a storage capacity of up to 128 GB.

30. Weighted Blanket

Our Recommendation: Waowoo Adult Weighted Blanket – Queen Size, 15 lbs

Students who spend their first night away from home should try to be as comfortable as possible. Weighted blankets may help you get better sleep and feel less anxious. Waowoo’s 15-pound blanket has pockets to help it disperse weight more evenly.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
