Nicholls State University is a public institution on a 287-acre campus in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The institution is made up of five institutions plus the John Folse Culinary Institute and the graduate schools. Majors in business and health are particularly popular among undergraduates. The institution has a 19 to 1 student/faculty ratio. Students can select from over 100 organizations and clubs on the co-curricular front, including a robust fraternity and sorority system. In athletics, the Nicholls State Colonels play in the NCAA Division I Southland Conference.

Overview of Nicholls State University Admissions

Nicholls State is an open school, admitting 94% of applicants in 2019. Students whose SAT/ACT scores and GPA are within the institution’s requirements have a good chance of being admitted. Applicants must complete an online application and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. Glowing recommendation letters can bolster your application, along with being involved with student organizations and attempting a challenging course load. Students with unique talents and accomplishments can still receive strong consideration even if their GPAs are outside of the mean range. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
