Spread the love

For music students, Tri-M® Music Honor Society is more than just a line on a resume. It’s a community, a source of inspiration, and a platform for personal growth. Students across the country are eager to share why they cherish their membership.

“Joining Tri-M® was a turning point for me,” says Sarah, a junior at her high school. “I was already passionate about music, but the society gave me a sense of belonging and purpose. It’s amazing to be surrounded by other students who share my love for music and want to make it a part of their lives.”

For many, Tri-M® offers a chance to go beyond just playing instruments. They organize concerts, fundraisers, and community outreach programs, fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership. “Being in Tri-M® has taught me so much about teamwork and collaboration,” says John, a senior. “We work together on projects, learn from each other, and support each other’s musical endeavors.”

Beyond the practical skills, Tri-M® cultivates a love for music that extends far beyond the classroom. “Tri-M® has opened my eyes to different genres and cultures,” says Maya, a freshman. “Through our activities, I’ve discovered new musicians, learned about different musical traditions, and gained a deeper appreciation for the power of music.”

The impact of Tri-M® goes beyond the individual student. By fostering a love for music and encouraging leadership, it creates a ripple effect within schools and communities, ensuring music remains a vibrant and integral part of our lives.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
