While Apple’s AirPlay feature is an incredibly popular and useful addition to iOS devices, Android users often feel left in the cold when it comes to wireless streaming. However, never fear, streaming from your Android device to an AirPlay-enabled speaker or display is still possible! In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of streaming from your Android device to AirPlay.

1. Download an AirPlay App for Android

To begin with, you will need a third-party app on your Android device that supports AirPlay. The Google Play Store offers several apps with varying degrees of functionality and compatibility, some popular options include:

– AllCast

– AirScreen

– Streambels

Take your time to read reviews and decide which app best suits your needs before downloading.

2. Connect Your Android Device and AirPlay Device to the Same Wi-Fi Network

To ensure seamless streaming, make sure both your Android smartphone or tablet and the device you plan to stream to (e.g. Apple TV, an AirPlay-enabled speaker or any other compatible devices) are all connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

3. Launch Your Selected App

After installing the chosen app on your Android device, launch it by tapping on its icon from your home screen or app drawer. Most apps will automatically start scanning for available devices on your network.

4. Select Your AirPlay Device

Once the app has detected your available AirPlay-enabled devices, they will be displayed within
the app interface. You can now select the desired device that you would like to stream content to by tapping on it.

5. Choose Your Content and Stream!

Now that everything is set up, you can use your chosen app to start streaming multimedia content such as photos, videos or music from your Android device directly to your AirPlay-enabled device!

Depending on the application used, you may either be able to stream individual files or mirror your entire Android screen. Follow the app-specific instructions for further guidance.

And there you have it! With these simple steps, you can now enjoy your favorite content from your Android device on your AirPlay-enabled speakers or displays. Happy streaming!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
