The United States military is renowned for its dedication to service and unwavering commitment to excellence. But beyond the battlefield, lies a vast pool of talent, eager to build a successful future. “Build America” is a comprehensive initiative aimed at empowering military learners – active duty, veterans, and their families – with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the civilian world.

This initiative recognizes the unique challenges faced by transitioning service members. Through targeted programs, it addresses the need for:

Career Transition: Providing personalized career counseling, resume writing workshops, and networking opportunities to help military personnel identify and secure civilian careers aligned with their skills and aspirations.
Educational Advancement: Offering financial assistance and mentorship programs to support military learners in pursuing higher education, leading to increased earning potential and career mobility.
Entrepreneurship Support: Providing resources and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the challenges of launching and growing their own businesses.

By fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional development, “Build America” empowers military learners to not only succeed in their civilian endeavors but also contribute to the broader economic and societal landscape. This initiative recognizes the invaluable skills and experiences gained in the military and translates them into tangible assets for the future.

“Build America” is more than just a program; it’s a commitment to investing in the potential of those who have dedicated their lives to defending our nation. By providing the necessary tools and resources, this initiative ensures that our military learners, upon completing their service, continue to build a stronger and more prosperous America.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
