Brevard College Students Return for the New School Year

The picturesque town of Brevard, North Carolina, is buzzing with anticipation as Brevard College prepares to open its doors for the new academic year. The campus, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, is set to come alive once again with the energy and enthusiasm of returning and new students alike.
As the summer draws to a close, the college staff have been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming class of 2027 and returning students. The campus grounds are meticulously manicured, dormitories freshly painted, and classrooms equipped with the latest technology to support an enriching learning environment.
Dr. Sarah Thompson, Dean of Students, shared her excitement: “We’re thrilled to welcome our students back to Brevard. This year promises to be one of growth, discovery, and community building. Our faculty and staff have prepared an engaging curriculum and a host of activities to make this year truly memorable.”
One of the highlights for returning students is the newly renovated Student Center, which now boasts a state-of-the-art fitness area and a cozy coffee shop perfect for study sessions or catching up with friends. Freshman Jake Miller expressed his enthusiasm: “I can’t wait to explore the campus and meet new people. The Student Center looks amazing, and I’ve heard great things about the outdoor programs here.”
Brevard College is known for its commitment to experiential learning, and this year is no exception. The popular Voice of the Rivers program, which combines academic study with a kayaking expedition, has expanded to accommodate more students. Additionally, the college has introduced new courses in sustainable agriculture and digital media production, reflecting its dedication to evolving with the times while maintaining its core values.
As students begin to arrive, the campus is abuzz with activity. Orientation week kicks off with a welcome barbecue, followed by team-building exercises and informational sessions designed to help students navigate college life. The college’s signature “Mountain Day” event, where classes are suspended for a day of outdoor activities and community service, is scheduled for early October.
Senior Emily Chen reflected on her return: “Coming back to Brevard feels like coming home. The friendships I’ve made here and the experiences I’ve had are irreplaceable. I’m looking forward to making the most of my final year.”
With a diverse student body representing over 30 states and several countries, Brevard College continues to foster an inclusive and supportive community. As the new academic year begins, the campus stands ready to inspire, challenge, and nurture the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and doers.
