Northern New Mexico College, frequently referred to simply as “Northern,” is a public four-year university situated in Espanola, New Mexico. Northern students can select from 13 bachelor’s programs and over 50 associate and certificate degrees. The institution emphasizes student engagement, an effort that is backed by a 12 to 1 student/faculty ratio, small classes, and extensive opportunities for hands-on experiences through undergraduate research, internships, and community involvement. The institution has a robust student life scene. Outside of the classroom, students can participate in a wide range of organizations and clubs and organizations. The NNMU Eagles play in the NAIA PCAC, Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. The institution majors four men’s and four women’s intercollegiate sports (cross country, basketball, golf, and bowling) and a co-ed spirit program.

Northern New Mexico College has open admissions, meaning any individual who meets the admissions requirements can study at the school. It has a robust admissions process that involves a multitude of academic measures. Applicants must complete an online application. A persuasive essay and glowing recommendation letters can bolster your application, along with being involved with student organizations and attempting a challenging course load. About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
