Overview of Fordham University Admissions

Fordham University accepts fewer than half of applicants and has a selective admissions process. However, Fordham has a robust admissions process that involves a multitude of academic measures. Students whose SAT/ACT scores and GPA are within the institution’s requirements have a good chance of being admitted. Applicants should complete an online application, and send test scores from either the SAT or ACT and high school transcripts. Students with unique talents and accomplishments can still receive strong consideration even if their GPAs are outside the admission offices’ mean range. After applying, students will receive a message from an admissions counselor about the next steps of the application process.

Admissions Data

During the 2018-19 admissions phase, Fordham University had an acceptance rate of 46%.  for every 100 students who submitted applications, 46 students gained admission, making Fordham’s admissions process competitive.

SAT Requirements and Scores

During the 2018-19 admissions phase, 71% of admitted students provided SAT scores. This admissions data reveals that most of Fordham’s admitted students fall within the top 20% on the SAT. 50% of students admitted to Fordham University scored between 620 and 700 on the evidence-based reading and writing section, while 25% scored below 620 and 25% scored over 700. 50% of admitted students scored between 630 and 730 on the math section, while 25% scored below 630, and 25% scored over 730. Applicants with a cumulative SAT score of 1410 or higher will have particularly competitive chances at Fordham.

ACT Requirements and Scores

During the 2016-17 admissions phase, 39% of admitted students provided ACT scores. This admissions data reveals that most of Fordham’s admitted students fall within the top 14% on the ACT exam. The median 50% of admitted students received a cumulative ACT score between 28 and 32, while 25% scored over 32, and 25% scored below 28.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
