Introduction:

Facebook Messenger is a widely used platform for communication, allowing users to send messages, photos, videos, and more. However, over time, your inbox might get cluttered with unwanted threads or unwanted messages. Deleting each message individually can be a tedious process. Thankfully, there’s a way to bulk delete messages on Facebook Messenger to save time and effort. In this article, we will explore the steps required to achieve this.

Method 1: Using a Browser Extension

One of the easiest ways to bulk delete messages from Facebook Messenger is by using a browser extension. In this method, we will use Google Chrome as an example.

Step 1: Install the browser extension

Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for an extension called “Messenger Cleaner” or any other similar extension. Click “Add to Chrome” and follow the prompts to install it.

Step 2: Open Facebook Messenger

Visit messenger.com in your Chrome browser, ensuring that you are logged in to your Facebook account.

Step 3: Select the conversations

Click on the extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser window. Choose whether you want to delete all messages or only those from a specific time period.

Step 4: Confirm deletion

Once you have made your selection, click “Delete Selected” or “Delete All” in the extension pop-up window. You will need to confirm your choice, and then the extension will begin deleting your selected messages

Method 2: Using a Mobile App

Another way to bulk delete messages from Facebook Messenger is by using a third-party app specifically designed for this purpose. Please note that using third-party apps comes with certain risks regarding data security and privacy.

Step 1: Download a suitable app

Search for an app like “Message Cleaner for Messenger” or similar apps on Google Play Store for Android devices or App Store for iOS devices. Following that, download and install the app.

Step 2: Open the app and log in

Open the downloaded app and log in using your Facebook credentials. The app will request permission to access your Messenger inbox. Grant the necessary permissions to proceed.

Step 3: Select messages

Navigate through your conversations and messages in the app interface, selecting those you want to delete. You can select multiple messages at once.

Step 4: Delete messages

After selecting the messages you want to remove, tap on the trash icon or choose “Delete Selected” from the provided options. Confirm your choice, and the app will start deleting the selected messages.

Conclusion:

Bulk deleting messages from Facebook Messenger is a convenient way to declutter your inbox and free up space for new conversations. By utilizing browser extensions or mobile apps, you can quickly and easily clean up your message history. Remember to exercise caution when using third-party solutions, as they may sometimes pose privacy risks.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
